Bionic Eye Restores Sight to Blind

I'm pretty sure this was already posted about two weeks ago as well.

i can almost hear old blind people on the brink of death cursing science and it's bad timing.

but this is great, science ftw.

Most of the blind people from birth had the brain image device. Something that took pictures and shot them into the brain as corresponding brain waves. Most of the blind people didn't want it because it was overwhelming and disappointing for reasons behind their assumption on what life looked like.

However, this is quite efficient.

It was a prosthetic eye transplant in the other thread, this is slightly different.

Science is awesome though.

I liked the idea of the electronic eye in Speaker for the Dead (Orson Scott Card, sequel to Ender's Game) where the user has one eye as an optic sensor and the other as the computer that controls it, and you can store recorded videos on the eye. It's like you have a video camera in your bo- actually, that's exactly what it is.
