Hi i recently put together my new rig (SPECS IN SIG) and there were no problems putting all my new hardware in. I connected all the power connectors and SATA cables and installed everything else.

I plugged my PSU in and fired my comp up. Then this message appeard.

BIOS Bad Checksum
Searching for Floppy drive...
Floppy Drive not Found!!
Searching for C-ROM...
CD-ROM not found!!
Searching for Floppy drive...

CD-ROM not found!!

etc etc

I rebooted my comp with the MOBO disc in the CD drive after changing one of the Cdrive cables.
A file was found and then a message said:

Reboot your system and power it up again to continue - or something like this.

I rebooted several times and cleared the CMOS on the motherboard - still no luck. - All my Hardware is brand new and my motherboard is an ASUS A8N-VM PCI-E.

Anyone got any solutions?

Thanks

Un plug all peripheral devices and try again. Heck un plug everything thats plugged into the mobo and try again. Chances are you haven't set the SATA up in BIOS or enabled it so BIOS can't read it. Mess around with BIOS and make sure your using a floppy ribbon cable.

I don't have a floppy drive plugged in atm but i also can't get into BIOS wont let me enter setup or anything O_o

Unplug stuff first, then try to get into setup....

I've had this happen on one of my ASUS boards before. Here's what I did (and it worked):

Power the system down.
Flip the rocker on your PSU (or alternatively unplug it).
Hit your computer's power button (this will drain leftover charge from the mobo).
Give it a sec.
Restore power to the PSU.
Power up.

Good luck.

Still no Luck - decided to return the MOBO as the tekkies at school agreed that it is probably faulty:P

Thanks for help all

Firmware on the bios, did not match the size of the file it said it should be. Thus bad firmware on the bios
