Hi,

I know a bit about computers and the other day i was tinkering around with my bios settings when i came across my DDR ram settings, which gave me options of Auto-Settings or Maunal Settings.

I have Samsung/Hyundai 333mhz 2.5 DDR Ram and i decided to change the Cas Latency from 2.5 to 2. Well so far ive experienced a pretty good performance boost, but i was wondering what effect it has on the ram. Does it heat up the ram more? Does it lessen the life of the Ram?

I ask because ive been thinking of dropping it to 1.5. My motherboard is an Asus P4S533-X and im running it on a P4 2.2 ghz

Some advice on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Razor2YK.

It heats the RAM up, it makes it more unstable, it shortens the lifespan and with 1.5 setting there's big probability to destroy your RAM.
