I went to flash my bios in XP. After inserting a dos floppy in windows i got the A: prompt, then i typed c:, but i got invalid drive specification. That is totally wrong though, because I have a C: drive. Does anyone know how I can flash my bios on XP?

You shouldn't flash your bios until you are 100% sure you know exactly what you're doing. You should have a formatted boot-disk, the BIOS flasher EXE and the BIOS binary that you want to flash to your Bios. These are available from your motherboard manufacturer (be sure you get the right ones for your motherboard).

It wouldn't hurt to read the readme's and tutorials on how to flash bios from your motherboard manufacturers webby, either.

Alternatively buy an ASUS motherboard and you can BIOS flash from within windows. :E

you can't see your c drive probably because its NTFS, and not many boot disks have NTFS support on them. what you should do is get the flasher and the bios file on a boot floppy or boot cd.

some info on how to make bootable cds too:
