Im sorry if this doesnt belong here, not sure where it would go.

I was wondering if a retail copy of Bioshocks CD key will work in steam. I have checked steampowred.com's support page and the "Retail CD Keys" answers page hasnt been updated since june of this year. If any one has purchased a copy of bioshock via retail and have tested their key in steam, if you could be so kind as to post your results ( or unless you know for sure from some other source ) on whether or not it works that would be great! thanks.

*also, since I've started a thread it would be silly to post a new one... does any one have any idea whenHL2: E2, Portals, and TF2 will be available for pre-load?

No one knows, probably the same same amount of time before the release that EP1 pre-load was.

I'm sure the game was already being mass produced before it was announced for Steam so it was too late to change the CD keys.

Steam cannot identify my retail CD-Key. Hope they'll fix it later.

I only ask because i do want a steam copy of the game, and if i have to download it over steam I will, as much as i dont want to download the 8 or 9 gigs its composed of, I'd much rather it be on steam then a silly disk.
* this will suck during reformats :( *

Just mount backups afterwards on burnt DVDs.
