Birmingham City Center Evacuated

Check my details. Finally an upside of working nights on the weekends (not in the city, that is)
My brother-in-law's work is on Broad Street, though :( . Need to text some peeps but I'm out of credit :( again.

Ohhhhh...I thought it was Birmingham, Alabama. Silly me.

What the...

Alabama?

Go away. :|

Does anyone know if this was a hoax or not, Norwich mall was emptied the other day because some loser left a suitcase in a shop.

Yeah, but the fact the entire centre was evacuated with no indication of when it'll be over indicates something a little more serious might be going on. I really hope everything is okay on that front, I'm glad that evacuations could take place before anything has even happened this time, to save casualty.

They said they had a valid high security threat, and they acted upon it.

"Police said they acted after receiving intelligence of an unspecified threat. They said a controlled explosion had been carried out earlier on a bus.

Officers now believe that the item destroyed on the vehicle, in Corporation Street, had not posed a threat. "

Interesting, developments in the matter. See how it goes from here, that wasn't there the first time that I read the article.

No since I just pressed refresh they added a couple more... pages.

There will be alot of these threats or things going on now for a while..but most of them I think will turn out to be nothing..but it's good to be safe.

Its obvious they received a warning or threat about a large radius bomb or device. With the fact that the police are not releasin any further infomation about the threat indicates that we were looking at a more exotic device, ranging from dirtybombs, chemical or biological agents, although I do not believe it would of been a nuclear bomb.

That's quite an assumption. The police said they evacuated the CC in order to be able to carry out searches properly.

I happened to be in Birmingham last night, enjoying a drink in celebration to a freind who passed his driving license. Next think I know, a whole convoy of police goes rollin' by outside the window and a couple of officers tell us to leave the building and join up with the rest of the crowd outside behind a barrier.

Last night SUCKED.

Bad night out in 'bama, like.

Main thing is that noone was hurt.
