Out of all the biscuits i've eaten I have to say Mcvitie's digestives are my favourite.

Mmm i'm looking at a pack right now... :stare:

Whats your favourite biscuit? :)

What in the...?
Apple Cinnamon and Raisin from Hardees
American Pride!

Wait.

Are biscuts in the U.K cookies in the US?

Yeah you yanks like to call them cookies...

babies :P

In the US biscuits and cookies are two entirely different foods.

It's kinda hard to explain. Basically cookies are what you guys call biscuits (chocolate chip, raisin, etc.) Biscuits in the US aren't a desert, they aren't sweet at all. They're kinda like rolls that you put butter on. Biscuits and gravy is another very popular dish.

No biscuits aren't scones, that picture is misleading. See my post above for an attempt at explanation.

WOW! now i'm scared of the u.s, rolls, butter = biscuits???

Dame you yanks for stealing our words and getting names of stuff all mix up! :P

Also you spell colour like this: color

Ohhh right, i guess we'd just call them rolls then...

Yeah lol i was confused when someone said choclate chip, biscuits in the US is what people eat with dinner.

Oh and just for future refrence, you might call all americans yanks in europe but only people who live in northern US are called yanks here....you would never call a person from Alabama a yank because they are called rednecks haha.

The thing is, biscuits are sorta a sub-category of rolls. We have rolls here in the US but we ALSO have biscuits. They're two different things. Biscuits are hard to explain to someone who's never had them. Come to the US and order biscuits and gravy, then you'll see what a biscuit is.

Yeh, yum yum Jammy dodgers....

Hey wait! i've only just relized you live in wales, wow i live on the border of wales hehe. :)

And proud of it :P

After all Ozzy's a Brit. :)

Ugh :x

Ok so he is funny...

Haha...Biscuits and gravy eh? I had gravy in the US (It was supposed to be English gravy) and it was white. Now white isn't the first colour I would associate with gravy...I think just just melted some lard and flour with a bowl of salt or something. :O

My favourite biscuit? Thats a tough one really, i don't have a facoutire but the last time I bought a packet, it was Mcvities Chocolate Chip N' Hazelnut Cookies. They are so nice, you really have to try them. I also like the cookies we make at home, but you wouldn't really call them biscuits. They truly are cookies on their own :P I can eat millions of chocolate digestives, although its not because I really like them...they just seem to be so eatable. I don't generally eat biscuits anymore though.

cookies/busicuits make you fat, and i've got 2 packets to munch on, one pack of dark choc digestives and 1 packet of milk choc caramel.. they were buy two for £1.50 in tesco, i couldnt resist.

Is it true that English food is really really bad?

That's the stereotype you know. I've never been to England so there's no way for me to really know.

yes, they are monsters over there. blood pudding :( it makes me weep.

Bob Evans makes the best biscuits and gravy combo.....the best.

Edit: Now I have actually read the thread and I see it isn't about Biscuits, it's about cookies, which is just crazy on so many levels. In light of this development, I will now tell of my favorite cookie. I used to love these M&M sugar cookies from a store called "The Original Cookie". They were quite large, and always fresh. Delicious...

Err... I don't really like the "biscuit biscuits" (those big poofy ones that soak up all the spit in your mouth and you become parched instantly).

But since biscuits are cookies to you UK people I like chocolate chips. :P

Favorite cookies: Ginger snaps
Favorite biscuits: KFC

Mmmm ::salivates on you::

I like my biscuits with gravy!

My favorite cookie is...... fresh Chocolate Chip. As long as they're still fresh and warm they're the best.

Hmmm... it's a toss up between Coffee Scrolls, Gingernuts (chewy, for preference), or chewy Chocolate Chip cookies.

Generally here in Australia, Cookie = flat baked thing with no cream, Biscuit (or "Bikkie") = two flat baked things with cream in the middle. At least, that's what it seems to be like around here. Sometimes the lines blur, like with Nice biscuits, which are flat baked things sprinkled with sugar.
