Hey guys, it's been a very long time since I've posted any of my photography so I decided to share some of my latest (latest meaning, anything in 2004). I've taken much more than these, but I'm just too lazy to upload them.

These are some aieral shots I took on my way home from california in January.

All my pictures were taken in full color using my Minolta Dimage Z1 and then modified in Adobe Photoshop to make them black and white. I never used the black and white mode on my camera because then if I ever wanted the full color copy of the picture, I wouldn't be able to have it. Let me know what you think.

Here's one of my "black and white" photographs. Edited in Photoshop, of course, for the effect.

I really like yours, btw.

Assuming you're referring to me, I used an Olympus C-Media 2100 digital camera. It was actually my cover submission for our program of studies book at my high school. (the book that has all the classes for enrollment at the beginning of 2nd semister)

Some nicely composed images tim8604; have you considered getting a dSLR camera? The entry level ones are pretty affordable now.

Yeah, I've thought about it. The only thing really holding me back right now is that apparently a new ccd is supposed to be coming out pretty soon that is going to blow away all the current technology. Also, just for shots like I've been taking lately the Z1 really has everything I need. It has tons of manual controls including adjusting the fstop, shutter speed, iso, and manual zoom. A few other nice features on it are the addition of a hot shoe so that I can attach external flashes if I wanted to, and an adapter tube that I can buy which allows me to put 52 mm lenses on the bad boy. The 10x optical zoom is great, along with the really bright flash. The one major thing I would have liked to have is image stabilization and more megapixels, but you can only ask for so much for $350. ;) Apparently they just released a new version, the Z2.

Check out it's feature list. It has 4 megapixels instead of 3.2, and supposedly is supposed to have a better lens that will help with the problem of color abberation that the z1 had that is only apparent on high contrast shots. Oh and on the z1, one nice feature about it that some other digitcal cameras don't have is bulb shutter option. You can't use the little extension cord type devices, but you hit the shutter once to start, and again to stop. Hmm, well as you can tell I did a lot of research before I picked up this camera and have been very satisfied. If anyone has any questions about it, don't hesitate to ask.

Oh and thanks again for the comments.

EDIT: yeah depreview is awesome. I looked there a lot for info on the z1

I have a lot more work, but it's all on the computers at school. I can bring them home and show them, though. They're not all black+white, but I think it'll slide.

I'll post up another set of some of my color one's later in the week. Feel free to post color/bw on here though.

I agree Fenric, the Canon 300D is a very good camera, I almost bought one the other month but was put off by the plasticy feel of it. I've ordered the new Nikon D70 instead; for me it has a much more pro feel to it and is much faster at continuous shooting.

I have the same one, I agree, it has a l33t feel to it. Thou I'm not l33t in anything, but having the D70 inspired me to take my 1st pics.

Sprafa, I have a picture very similar to that. I'll see if I can get those pictures this week, before prom.
