Black Holes are impossible?

'dark energy' they said. It has to be the dark force, like in starwars right ?

Well that's that wrapped up then..

Thankyou for your insightful comments Farrow and Jimmeh.

Bliink, they're spamming my thread, please sort them out with exagerated meaness please.

I want to believe in black holes, therefore i do.

Heh, I do apologize Razor - I was a bit bored at the time ;)

Just to stop me from being a complete arse - didn't someone post an article about scientists creating a black hole? For like 0.0005 seconds, and whatever it was showed all the characteristics of one. But then again, nobody really knows anything I guess.

Surprise! there's a report button and other mods around on the forum. She's not your personal mod.

If people are spamming, report them, don't cry about it hoping a mod will happen along to see.

LOL, that was a funy comment.

Back to topic: well I believe that black holes is a time machine or a travel device to another space dimension. I saw on BBC1 the other day that they showed real pictures of black holes. So they must exist....

Pictures of black holes?
You mean pictures of light deficiency where a black hole has traveled in front of a star?

You can't see a black hole, since they suck all matter into them - they think they're there because you can see the absence of light.

Oh, the irony. Making a post purely to comment on a worthless post :hmph:

Strikes me as yet another thing scientists incorrectly cite as impossible- hell, by the laws of aerodynamics, early scientists had great difficulty in proving that bumble bees could fly.

"Oi! No!"

"Bzzt?"

"You can't fly! I've got it here in writing!"

"Bzzz."

Admittedly, now they know their wings' pattern of movement forces air around in such a way as to support them- I reckon they'll think a bit more about the subject- i.e., more research into the theory- and then there'll be yet more backtracking.

he is right, who gives a damn if you can "see" a blackhole or see the blackhole, you know what he meant, you can see a visual repesentation of a blackhole, if you will

Einstein didn't believe in black holes, Chapline argues. "Unfortunately", he adds, "he couldn't articulate why."
I thought that part was some-what interesting

Pretty sure steven hawking prooved their existance based on the other guys work. There are images of "Donuts" (blackholes infront of planets/lightsources) and xray telescopes can see the massive xray bursts that come out of them.

Seeing that I am 12, I've no idea what that site was talking about. Except the part about black holes not existing.

I think what the article is suggesting is that a "Black Hole" isn't a hole in Space/Time, but is actually a solid, black object made of Dark Energy. Xray telescopes and black circles infront of a star doesn't mean that the black patch is a hole, just that it emmits xrays and is circular in shape.

And Dark Elf, i didn't want to go as far as report them, just make sure they knew that i didn't want them pooing in my thread, when i was hoping for a highly insightful, intelligent discussion, with the many intellectual people here.

well I believe in blackholes as long as some1 can proof they dont exist

That reminds me...I still want to see that movie What the Bleep Do We Know? :)

Wow, that is seriously interesting stuff. And it sounds like it could actually be somewhat close to the truth.

Well when a black hole or drak energy comes to visit then we will know. :|

For me, Black Holes aren't interesting in themselves, but what makes them interesting is all the previous theories they neatly negate. Newton's spinning in his grave; Einstein's showing us the tongue and saying, "So now you found out I fooled you, suckers. Took a helluva long time getting there, morons."

And who's to say ten years from now we'll still be looking at Black Holes as a valid concept? Perhaps someone will come up with something new and we'll all say Stephen Hawking was a ninny.

cos theris no Visible light ( radiation) around a black hole because its all slurped in Wave particle Duality!!

:) so yeah
u are taking a picof an area where no light exists thusly claiming tre is a black whole there
