We've had an interesting year now haven't we? Most anticipated mod of 2005, a strong focus on custom content, and the target of pre-meditated hacker attacks ending in downtime and the forum database's destruction. That’s just a few of the highlights too!

To put it bluntly, the last attack us took demolished the forum database. We have backups, but due to forum inconsistencies and losing installation packages: porting over the older database's backups will be very tedious and immensely frustrating. So unless we have a strong incentive to port over the old database, consider it MIA.

With that said, post away and spread the word that our public forums are back online. A brand new forum license and working towards a skin to accompany it. Due to the incompatibility of the last skin to 2.1.x, we are looking for forum skins (or better yet, forum skinners). We'll be starting up a thread in Off-Topic to facilitate suggestions so please keep such suggestions in there.

On a final note, you will be hearing something official from us in the near future. Don't ask when, because we're not going to tell you.

'Tis nice that they are back, and yay for a near future update. :p

Cheers comrades! My Motherland is back online!

Glad to see that nothing seems to be stopping this mod.

Keep up the hard work.

Do not spam our forums. We are going to be enforcing the rules much more strictly to stop the stupidity that those forums were known for in the past.

Wasn't there a big battle between separists and something else?

Main rule on my new MINERVA forum - in less than two weeks, the whole lot gets obliterated. I'm convinced forum-goers should continually have an awareness of their own mortality, so therefore a countdown timer is present on every single page.

Ticking down until the inevitable.

Rules? Who cares. It's all going to be destroyed anyway... ;-)

Expect chaos then, not from me but from others and Kal... it be only the old threads being placed back, it more likely sapmming in he threads not spamming lots of threads and lighten up btw jezz

r00t hacked those forums.
Why? Because it annoys me that you think I'm a script kiddie which hacked 2.0.4.
Now I hacked 2.1.6...
Anyway, all the IPB series are full of critical bugs. When they close 1 bug.. another one opens. Just like Windows.
So you were hacked again...
My IP is not my IP, its my little proxy and it does NOT keep any logs.
No admin was hacked, it was just an exploit to byass admin login and go straight to teh admin CP as an invissible root admin.
Say sorry for something and admit that I'm not a script kiddie and I'll leave you all alone.

Unfortunetly hacked again by stupid kiddie hacker! :frown:

I hope someone punches him in the face and deletes every file on his computer and all his backups.

This is starting to get annoying... maybe BM should start using vBulletin instead of IPB on their forums.

Slapping him with a lawsuit seems to be in order. If only he could be tracked.

I have lost almost all confidence with the BM web staff by this point.

You're having a ****ing laugh aren't you Black Op, what do you expect us to do about it? We just updated to the latest version of IPB, which we had to pay for, hoping it would be secure enough for everyday running, clearly otherwise.

If you want to do something, try a little ****ing harder?

Don't. PMs are there for a reason.

Probably because it's conducive to idiocy and immaturity, and makes it nearly impossible for anything remotely bearing resemblence to actual discussion to come up.

edit:
In other words Samon felt he needed an e-penis extention and Starmonkey was happy to oblige.

Hehe...

Screw the forums, make the mod!

:D Thats what we're doing! Now that the forum situation appears to have been resolved, we'll continue back into the bunker. If you need us again, scream SNARK and that generally clears out the bunker real quick.

But on a more serious note, please look to the announcement on our forums for the latest info on our standings.

Going back to that forum made me remember why I left, stupid suggestions left and right and half the people thinking that it's canon that the Combine were on Xen. Even the supposedly most purist member has suggested a giant f*cking portal in the sky in Surface Tension.

god yeah... i think the team should ask hl hardcore fans for suggestions, rather than these kind of people.
one thing about the forums, BM(S) is Mod of the year, so it's not that unusual to get hacked by others to slow you down. forget about the forums, make the mod!

That suggestion has turned into storm effects now more or less due to compromises. :cheese: I may have proposed the original plan, but I'll probably not fight too hard for it. However I see no reason why BM(S) should directly cater to people that never played HL1 before, nor should we fear noobs that will take BM(S) content to be the truth for what happened in HL1.

I'm not a fan of Black Mesa, but I'll go ahead and post some anyway. :p

:). I respect that. There's a lot of people out there that don't like us and simply push us into the dirt accordingly, but there are a few other that don't like us, say they don't like us, and allow everyone to go on with their lives.

Welcome to the Black Mesa community. It's something about us that just wants to attract every member which no other community wants: which is why ND, INS and FF have these really cool communities! lol, Imagine if we scrapped the public forums... Oh the inhumanity that would unleashed on the Half-Life community!

Oh, that was funny. :)

I don't not like, I'm just skeptical. :)

Could it be? Samon and Ennui in logical, warranted agreement? :p

I'm similarly skeptical, but hell - make your mod. If it's as awesome as you say it is when it comes out, I'll be the first to withdraw my words, shake your hand, and play the mod. If not... you put enough effort into it that saying "I told you so" would just make me feel like an ass.
