Hello,
I'm Jon Dominski, Co-Director of the Half-Life 2 Modification Black Mesa: Source. For those of you who haven't heard of our initiative, it is to recreate the game which started one of the largest online and offline gaming communities worldwide. We plan to rederive the original Half-Life 1 onto the Half-Life 2 engine taking advantage of the many new technologies which now present themselves. Through increased polycounts on objects, models, monsters, allies, NPCs, and weapons: we hope to create the visual enhancements that were just unpresent in Half-Life: Source. Overall we feel that the original deserves more then what Half-Life: Source gave it. Increasing detail in level design, creating a more diverse and lifelike Black Mesa, as well as redoing the original sounds and voices we hope to bring you to you a version never though possible: Black Mesa: Source. Our present forums are avaliable here and our website will be up within a short while.
We are actively searching for developers wishing to become part of a professional and dedicated development team in the following positions. Past examples of work are a requirement or an example of your work based on relevant material from Half-Life.
Avaliable Positions:
Modeler(s): We are actively seeking two modelers to become apart of the BM: S Development Team to complete such tasks as weapon modelling, NPCs, enemies, aliens and other objects requiring such modelling techniques.
Texture Artist(s): We are actively seeking two texture artists to become apart of the BM: S Development Team to aid and contine in the redevelopment of the original Half-Life textures. PRIORITY POSITION
Level Designer(s): We are seeking level designers to develop levels for the chapters which were present in the original Half-Life. Improvements in geometry and other such areas are open ended for the designer to experiment with, but overall layout ad goals will be left intact.
Animator(s): We are seeking two animators to animate models such as weapons, NPCs, monsters and other parts of Black Mesa: Source. PRIORITY POSITION
Sprite & Decal Artist: The Black Mesa: Source Development Team is presently in need of one Sprite & Decal Artist to aid in the development of entitiy sprites & decals which will be used throughout the modification.
Skinner(s):- The Black Mesa: Source Development Team is presently in need of one skinner in order to apply completed textures to weapons & models.
If you wish to apply to any of these positions, please stop by our forums or drop myself a line at the following e-mail: [email protected] . Please remember to include past examples of your work.
