Black Screen with Audio

I was using hijackthis last night, and I thought the stuff I deleted was malware, but apparently one of them was masqueraded as something completely different, because now when I play videos they show up with a completely black screen, but there is audio. I have tried installing all sorts of codecs again, to no avail. Any idea what I could have deleted/done?

Not sure. Have you played with the overlay setting?

You're a genius Asus! I didn't mess with overlay or anything I think... but it did prompt me to go into my video card settings and realize that for some reason my contrast was at 0% and all my other settings were wonky. I set them back to default and it works beautifully again.
