OMG, OMG, OMG...OMG! :bounce: Ok I'm extremely happy right now if you havn't noticed already!!! :rolling: I thought absolutely nothing happened around the east coast. Yes I do love New York and if you remember, I managed to see Blade Runner: The Final Cut. I managed to see it early in an HD, old cinema with a HUGE widescreen with perfect audio capabilities. I will seriously be telling that to my kids someday. Well I always hate Texas, Seattle, and California for just having events. I'm quite confident that even Shamrock will tell you no events happen around here but boat and health expo's.

Well my dad just informed me that Edward James Olmos who played Gaff:

Also Sean Young who played Rachael:

Will be going to Comic-Con. Now I got really upset and confused. I informed my dad that Comic-Con had already passed and that it's in California. My dad then said it's in Comic-Con New York! I'm still blown away that we have a Comic-CON here AND we have 2 actors from Blade Runner going there!

Not only will they be there but also:
  1. Robert Patrick who played the liquid Terminator in T2.
  2. William Dafoe who played the Green Goblin in Spiderman.
  3. Linda Hamilton who played as John Connors mom in Terminator 1 and 2.
  4. Adam West. Need I say more about Mr. Adam Batman West?
  5. Arthur Suydam who does the cover art for Marvel Zombies.
  6. The original and Young Boba Fett actors.
  7. Nichelle Nichols who played Uhura on the original Star Trek.
There is a huge amount of comic artists as well. I do not read comics though but if I was one, I would be going crazy even more so. Also a few retired baseball players and some XMEN actors like Gambit who played in XMEN: Origins. The full list and site is here: http://www.wizardworld.com/home-apple.html

If you are anywhere near New York, make an attempt to go to this. It's a Friday to Sunday event as well. Now if we could only get Valve to come to PAX in Boston. Hell I'm surprised something like that is in Boston.

Lucky, we had one few months back, Edward James Olmos was there and a couple other random people. Seems like a good list there.

I admit, I wish I could say the same. That must have been great.

I saw BR on VHS about 7 times and on DVD twice. I haven't seen the Final Cut yet!

Yeah it really is the final cut. The way they made it into HD was done with love and pure expertise. It felt like you were right there in the world with Deckard and was a surreal experience. Getting out of the theatre made me feel the same way. New York City looked like Offworld when I got out of the theatre. The crowded streets, the steam from manholes, the LCD ads playing on the side of the buildings.

I'm a sheep that likes to buy Valve games. Bahhhh.
The **** does that mean? Don't you be knocking my Boston.
Typical Masshole response after going to a Boston Red Sox game. What is there to do in Boston or the North East honestly Yorick? You can only go to Faneuil Hall so many times you know.

I drove 4 hours starting 4AM to new York City, NY. My dad couldn't come becasue he is sick right now (getting better) but my mom drove back 4 hours. The driving wasn't too bad and I was surprised. My mom and I got to the event and got in and there was lots of people there. I caught 2 people dressed up as Ghost Busters and 1 Speed Racer in the line. There was a Nintendo booth which was lame because of the stupid games. A sword fighting game resulted mainly waving your hand around really quickly to win. I did get a flower bracelet for "WiiSports Resort" and 2 thumb drives that convert your SD cards for your camera into a USB drive.

Next to it was a DeLorean all wired up (took 7 months) with LCD monitors and blinky lights all over it. The Batmobile was there as well.

I met the people that I got a picture with. I told Linda Hamilton "you played in my favorite action movie and the last good Terminator film" and she agreed to that one. She also said the desert scene's were really hot on the set but the refinery scenes were very cold and they sprayed water on them to make them look like they were sweating. Sean Young also agreed that Blade Runner is the best Sci-fi film and said it was a lot of fun to make. The Aliens actor's I felt I embarrassed myself. I couldn't place them because they were mainly meat for the Aliens and were eaten fairly early in the film. Still I thanked them and they also think Aliens versus Predator are terrible films.

I saw a few Playboy bunnies. My mom met Lou Ferrigno (the original Hulk) and the guy can spank Arnold any day. While Arnold has flabby arms due to steroids, Lou is the Hulk without the green skin. My mom didn't know what to say which was basically "your mom must be proud of you, etc" and poor Lou (who was born deaf) basically said "Well thank you ma'am" in his Hulk voice. I saw a "Ghost Hunter" guy and nobody cared about that con-artist. Rupert Boneham (tie dye/teddy bear "Survivor) walked past me and I watched him talk to some people. I saw Julie Newmar (tv show "Batman" Cat Woman). I saw Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) some years ago when I met Jaws and saw him again. I think he should give these events a rest because it looked like he was tired/didn't care which is sad because he is a nice guy.

They also had a wax Steven Spielberg there from "Madame Tussauds". The body was made of fiberglass and they put wax over it. The wax model was amazingly detailed right down to the wrinkles before the fingernail on your hand. A representative said that it takes half a year to make one and they do a complicated process of taking a bunch of pics and scanning the person for height. I asked the guy if I could touch it and he let me. I joked saying that the beard felt like a G.I. Joe doll. It didn't even feel like wax neither because they put a layer of polyurethane over it to protect it.

I didn't see William Shatner nor Adam West. I will probably go to another event and more, lol. All I can say is if you go to one of these events, you got to understand that these people age. Edward Furlong who played as John Connor, does not look like that 80's kid anymore. I have some footage on a camcorder but the trick is to buy an adapter card and run the 8mm tape through the adapter card in my pc. I'll put that up some day. The full actor list is here: http://www.wizardworld.com/guests-apple.html Some I saw and some were not there/cancelled coming.

The pictures are in the spoiler tag. If you have any questions or want more pics, just ask!
The 3 photos below are too large for my scanner so I tried my best to merge them together. Limited Edition 15-50 signed autograph of Sean Young.

Lobby card they handed out for Blade Runner back in the day. I believe this was a deleted scene shown in the Final Cut in which Deckard was running across the taxi cabs. I'm gonna have to track this guy down for another event in November.

That's pretty tight.
Jealous that you met Linda Hamilton, she seems like she'd be intense to talk to.

That's ****ing dope bro I hope you had a great time (sure looks like it) :D

Lots of cool people you met there. I've never been a convention going type of person... I think the only kind I would consider going to is one for Firefly. Awesome that you met Sean Young, didn't see Ed Olmos anywhere?

Ohhh, Ennui is just too cool for conventions.

Too cool for conventions, too cool for school.

Naw, the only reason I don't go is lack of motivation and because my only convention exposure was an anime one in middle school and IM NEVER GOING BACK

Well yeah, that is why you had a bad experience. But go to comic-con, they are kickass.

I mean, I got this Japanese Army of Darkness Poster there-

I didn't see Olmos anywhere and I think he dropped out. You should go to Comic-CON though. You will probably see some people dressing up like the pic of the Star Trek guys but it looks cool. I promise you that you should go to at least 1 and it won't be your last.

I don't read comics neither but the art there was phenomenal. I really have to stress that because there was the Comic-con side with the celebrities, but then there was the comic artists. Some of the retailers were pretty cool too. There was 2 guys that were selling magnets, stickers, shirts, etc. They were selling some TF2/L4D stuff though. I remember they had stickers of a cartoon tank in L4D, Scout in TF2, etc. I commented that I liked their Valve stuff and they said they were huge TF2 fans. That is another reason you should go to meet other Valve fans.

So really you don't have to buy anything when you go to the events but you probably will and if can go to Comic-Con, do go. :D

*Oh my mom bought an un-finished sketch of this girl from this guy Greg Petre: http://gregandfake.blogspot.com/

The man sharing the table with him was "Tom Pollock Jr." and making some kick ass art: http://www.tompollockjr.com/

Epic art was....beyond epic.

I have to buy a video capture card to get my 8mm tapes from my camcorder to my PC. In the mean time a person uploaded vids he had to youtube.
