Blade Runner on HDDVD/Blu-ray

The DVD release will still have all 5 discs won't it?

I imagine about 3 of them will be for the movie because I heard thtis version comes with 3 versions of the film.

Can't wait! :D

There was supposed to be another "final cut" from Ridley Scott too, is this the disc they're talking about?

Saw parts the 2006 video on joox.net. There was just scene after scene of new footage and the picture quality was much better. Also:

Ahhhh Harrison Ford. :upstare: ^^Global warming ****ing up the atmosphere, yep. They never explained what happened to the 6th replicant either. It was cut out of the film but was in the sketches. *Oh yeah Daryl Hannah was the woman with the eye patch in Kill Bill, aka "Pris" in BR. She broke her arm in the first screening when she tried to run away but smashed her arm into the glass. She was never supposed to smash into the glass but she played out the scene anyways.

I'm on this like butter on toast (or beans on toast, for you ridiculous-ass english types).

No, seriously, I ****ing love Blade Runner. I almost want to buy a PS3 so that I can watch it in high def.

Thanks for the update hool10, really appreciated.

"This movie will be released in theaters, and will then be followed by a DVD release."

In cinema? OMG, one thing I always wanted to do is watch Blade Runner in cinema - this is like sex for me. *cries*

Yea it would be if it wasn't released only in 2 states:
A showcase theatrical run is also being planned for New York and Los Angeles October 5.
They should do it like the time they re-mastered "Aliens". Awesome seeing it for the first time on the big screen! ;)

Oh man, just read it! Its not going to be released in the UK!?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

:cries:

I guess having it on Blu-Ray will have to do.:(

Isn't that movie like seven years old?

Or are you talking about the series?

WHAT?! NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW how much will it cost?

Blade Runner is about 25 years old, and I have no idea what series you're referring to.

Well read the links I gave you. If you want the full experience (who wouldn't) it will cost you nearly $100. It comes with other neat stuff though and it's in a suitcase. Limited edition too.

A suitcase would be nice, but not worth $100 to me. Collectors editions always seem great, untill the extra crap that comes with them ends up in the cupboard and never seen again. Blader Runner at 1080p is all i'm after.

Yeah but the super-duper edition has 5 discs on it.

Wow, Comic-CON :P I started to add videos but there are just too many. So hunt for the videos here: http://www.youtube.com/results?sear...e_uploaded&search_category=0&search=Search&v=
Take notice at the "Blade Runner Panel" videos. *Is that the box art in the back? *So much new info. Just google the info. You can pre-order the best edition off amazon for $55: http://www.amazon.com/Blade-Runner-Five-Disc-Ultimate-Collectors/dp/B000K15VSA

Sorry, I was thinking of Blade.

They will make a 1982 movie in Blue-ray? What's the point of that?

It's a masterpiece? You really need to watch Blade Runner. Hell, the graphics will even give some modern films a run for its money.

Yeah, but it wasn't created for HD. The quality will be no better than on a normal DVD (on the original version).

Plus it should look lovely. The chance to see one of the best sci fi movies ever in pristine condition and in high res is very appealing.

They are taking the original film and not only cleaning it up, but adding tons of new stuff. Then they are converting it to pure HD format. Tbh every CGI movie looks like crap. The Thing, Aliens, Star Wars, etc. It took time, effort and money to produce those effects for these movies. The new Simpsons movie beats every new CGI animated movie out there.
