Because they point in the direction of something but don't tell you WTF you want to hear!

What am I talking about?

Blizzard fans were out in force in London tonight, celebrating the launch of the much anticipated World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion, but another Blizzard game might have stolen the limelight.

Itzik Ben Bassat, Vice President Business Development and International for Blizzard Entertainment, took the stage at HMV Oxford Street, London, and said some rather revealing words.

"I'm a StarCraft player myself and I hope it's not a decade, and we launched StarCraft in 1998, before I'm standing here again, celebrating the next game in the series," stated Bassat while on stage.

So, while not an official date for the next game in the StarCraft series, a new game by 2008 looks very likely. We'll keep our ear to the ground for more info.

They did something similar back in august to. Just announce it!

blizzard boss:"ok so who screw it?"
bassat:"oops, it sliped"

2008, meh. That will be in my final year of Uni. Your having a laugh right. GRRR!

Wow, I'll be in DigiPen when it gets released if that is true.

I can already see a huge LAN party being hosted by the school!

This better run in High Detail on even the shittiest of computers like WoW and WC3.

WOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooT, you know, in a way, I hope this is a form of Ghost reborn - I quite enjoyed it at BLizzcon

I don't. I want them to push the graphics envelope! I want running Starcraft on High Details to be a joy :)

I told you, ZM forums. SC2 is in dev.

I can't wait for it...I'm betting they have been working on it for years trying to make sure they live up to the hype.

Really? They're probably just throwing it together now and marketing it solely in Korea, adding a subscription fee to it. Easy bux.

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Starcraft 2 next year, C&C3 this. Truely, this is a great time.

Bit off-topic, but how much of Westwood is actually behind the EA team responsible for C&C3? Generals wasn't a bad game by all means but I never got the feeling that I was playing a Westwood game. (RA1 / RA2 and the first C&C gave me so many fond memories :p)

I really doubt it would be a pay to play thing, they have WoW for that...To this date, Starcraft is STILL selling! Almost 10 years later and people are still paying ~20 bucks for the battlechest. They now SC2 wlil sell...well. I really doubt they would go through all these years without even thinking about, "Hey, we made one of the best games in video game history.....sequel? FORGET IT FOR NOW!" They probably are trying not to shoot themselves in the foot and make a game that is way sub par to the original...it will be hard, but I have faith that Blizzard can do it.

You are my first laugh of the day, good sire. Enjoy it well!

Blizzard! Blizzard! Blizcraft! Starcraft! Starcraft!

It's not Starcraft II. I have an uncle on the inside and he says it's actually a cover for Blizzard's ultimate creation which will finally and surely enslave the entire world under their almighty pendulum of addictiveness.

It's codenamed - Diablocraft IIIVX: Broodlord of the Frozencraft Warghost Destructo-Starwarscraft Throne Worldcraftcraft.

The next 4 expansions are already in dev, and a Battle Chest will be available on release complete with a 10,000 page strategy guide, a small army of figurines and your very own in-box Korean gold farmer. It'll retail for about $1 human soul (US). Pre-orders will start as soon as they spawn more Overlords.

I think Westwood did actually make Generals, but virtually all of the original Westwood that worked on Command & Conquer and Red Alert has left EA and is now working at Petroglyph (Empire at War).

Oh, and Starcraft 2 = Awesome. They really should just announce it already, its not like we can't tell from all their quotes.
