Anyone of you guys ever played the great old Horror FPS called Blood? Well if you did then you know what it is. Well anyway I wanted to make a "total" remake of Blood into Source engine it would be very very scary and awesome. I just want to see this game in the "new gaming age" it was (and still is) one of my favorite Horror FPS that I would love to be recreated on Source! Just think of it new GFX, Recreated Blood Enemies/Weapons/Textures, RagDoll Physics and levels!! It would take a extreme amount of time for modeling/animating/recreating the entire Blood world. Anyone up for this?

Theyre making a new Horror FPS Called F.E.A.R should be aweosme < great developers.
 
i like the sound of this idea. Blood was really cool ( despite being way too hard for me to understand, and really hard to navigate. But yeh, a pitchfork would be a cool addition to Half Life 2 :). I would say it wouldn't be very hard at all, because if I can remember blood, and it has been a while, the levels are fairly compact. Long, but, not really open. And additionally, there are only about 4 or 5 weapons, are there not ? Pitchfork, Shotgun, Machine Gun, or something like that ???

If this gets off the ground, i'll be watching it. I might even be interested in helping out :).

As you can see the Left Wing is the current (new wing) while the right one is the old wing and its a comparion of detail on each side :)

The left wing is NOT perfect and still needs "tweaks" to do :) The wing too me about 30 - 60 mins =P

I dont understand how its gonna be scary but okay LOL ill help out with sounds and music, im a composer and an intermediate/advanced sounds producer :) contact me when you need help. PEACE out
 
gr......pfftt...I already made the animated pitchfork weapon in 3ds max 5 from blood 3d....blah i really dont care about what that guy posted I am just gonna keep going :P

Sorry for the blurry pic (its jpeg lol) Thats just a Still Pic but the pitchfork actually has 2 animations of attacking now all I need is prolly a bit of programming and stick it in hl2 and test it :P Anyone know how to program this thing and stick it in HL2? Thanks.
 
Do you apply the meshsmooth modifier on everything you model? Cuz if it's the case I don't think the game will be playable.
 
ye I do, and I know it wont be playable due should not exceed 6 K polygons on 1 model. But I am just making the models too see how it would look ingame or try to imagine. This is just beginning :) Not only I am doing models but I am trying to get my skills higher cause I am still learning. Its a patient process.
 
Damn, I'd love to see a remake of the first Blood game!!! I hope you find some people to make it for the community.

One of my favorite weapons was the explosive aerosol can. :flame:

lolz ya I hate the Hell Hands are annoying as hell and the spiders =( lol. Wonder how they'll look on source =P

Great idea, had by many.. but it ain't gonna happen, you don't have permission.

Why I wont have a permission? I can email em and ask...I also saw Blood on Quake engine somewhere I think...
 
Check out Transfusion, a standalone game made on the Darkplaces engine, with help from some of the original Blood team. TBH, I don't think Blood will work on Source, the lighting and atmosphere would ruin it. If you want to recreate Blood, wait for FEAR. Made by Monolith, so there would be fewer problems in terms of copyright, and the engine would suit the mod perfectly.

Just my $0.02 :p

yes F.E.A.R's Engine will be good for blood. But I am just doing this for fun and to learn other things out of game developement for myself tho. I am sure people who love blood would participate in this is just for fun and i am sure people can learn alot about game develpment out of this. F.E.A.R looks awesome cant wait to try it out hope they'll have a demo :)

My Blood Source mod would be called

To make Blood look good on source we'd need some new stone/metal/rust/etc... textures. I am sure some talented peeps can make awesome textures on photoshop or I can find some on google :P Currently I can recreate entire 1ist Blood Level (map it in Hammer for half life 2) just to see how it would be a closer look of the design I wonder how it would actually feel. Gonna try that now =D Some textures in Hammer are already good for Blood but might need to be edited abit.

Email them, if they say yes then more power to you, don't get me wrong i'd love to see a proper blood mod done. But if you don't get permission it wont happen, they'd have to stop you to avoid anyone else trying the same thing and using you as the example, like i said in another thread, let one through and anyone can do it then.
