blue device?

hey all,

I've come accross this blue device (it has a white battery pack on top and a couple of cables hanging out of it, plus a 3999 number displayed on the front green LCD panel) during the bit when you leave a friendly compound with the yellow car.

Any ideas what that's for? You can't equip it and if thrown nothing happens.

It's one of the hidden caches the guy in the garage mentions before he lets you drive off. There're five of them, so look out for the blips.

pay attention to the navi the mechanics installed,it shows the lamda symbol when you get near a weapons cache,and,on each of the 5 caches,those blue signals area attached to a crate
