Blue Screen shows up during CS:S or HL2 then computer resets

Ok... I have the memory problem, but that is not my only problem and it hasn't bothered me for a few hours since i reinstalled some .cgf files. I also have a problem when i play cs for a few minutes (maybe around 10) a blue screen comes up and then my computer just restarts as if i hit the reset button. I don't see too many posts about this so i figured i would start one. Hopefully you guys can help.

Is anyone else having this blue screen problem?

I've got the same problem too man. Don't know what to do either. I get serious stuttering during the intro movie to the main game then once playing the game my computer will blue screen barely long enough to read it then the computer restarts. Really makes me mad too. As I can play the game only till it has to load a new part of a level.

i had this prob and i still cant believe i fixed it.....
here is what you can do to fix the dredded bluescreen reset crash (with a buzzing sound) or the crash with sounds looping over and over: run dxdiag by start then run and type "dxdiag" (no quotes) to open the directX dianostic tool, and change the sound settings in the sound tab and use the slider to lower the sound acceleration. the options are: no acceleration, basic acceleration, standard acceleration, full acceleration. Changing the setting from Full to Standard acceleration has fixed this problem on mine. i hope this helps.

I tried changing the setting to standard and it didn't help me. But thanks for the idea anyways... any other idea's? :|

update your drivers, video, sound, motherboard. could also be overheating, check for dust in your heatsinks. If you put together your copmputer yourself you know what to check for, if not, just dust out the insides. update directx.
