I wasn't sure where to post this.

Anyway, I decided today that I would play Blue Shift again. So I start it up, click new game, select medium (yes, medium), and it starts. But it's all screwed up. I even uninstalled and reinstalled. I messed with the HD-Pack to see if that would work, but it didn't.

On to my problem. The models are messed up. Keep in mind what I'm about to tell you is with the HDP on. The scientists, barneys, and weapons are all non-HDP-ish. There are some exceptions. The uniformless barney running at the start is from the High-Definition Pack, the labcoat-less scientists are right, and the barney that gives you your sidearm is correct. But Barney Calhoun has Gordon's arm model.

I need help fixing this. Please?

thats insane... i have no idea how you would fix that!

Moved to General Gaming...

I'll post again if I can work out how to fix this... Hmmm...

I believe there is a HDP for Steam, its on fileplanet.

Try searching for it and overwriting the model files with the one from the Steam HDP.

My guess is that you for some reason have installed the half-life high definition pack and not the blue shift high definition pack. The installer should recognise what and where to install automatically, unless you are using wares... ;)
You can try to install it manually. I haven't got my blue shift cd next to me so I don't really know what it looks like but i suppose there is some directory called hd pack or something with other directories like half life, opposing force and blue shift in it. Copy the .pak file(s) in the blue shift directory to your blue-shift/valve (?) directory and it should work.
Did that make any sense?

Sorry about posting in the wrong place.

I don't have Steam, but thanks anyway.

I'll see about getting some screenshots.

Let me just ask you guys something; Does anyone else do that thing when you actually walk around instead of running at the start of Blue Shift and Half-life? I don't know why I do it, it just feels silly to run around without a reason.

The screens I took are too large. How do I make them smaller? :(

Edit: Yep. I walk around instead of running. It's better. :)

Wow, weird - i had almost the exact same problem a few months ago when i reinstalled all the HL games for a bit of replay....installed the HD pack, but it never showed on any of the models....just the same old, same old - though nothing like what you're describing, but still, its close.

Anyway i gave up after looking through most HL related forums.

Did the same thing in Half-Life... don't know why.

It feels more realistic I guess, I do the same thing.

And when you uninstall, remove the whole damn directory, then reinstall.

I'll try that. Thanks.

Edit: When I removed the directory, it deleted the screens. I forgot to move them to another folder. :frown: If it does this again (I haven't reinstalled it yet) I'll get MORE screens! :|

My computer wouldn't let me edit my last post again so I had to make this one.

Thank you Dalamari. It worked! :D I could keep saying thank you over and over but either my fingers would get tired or I would get banned or something. But, anyway, Thank you.

It's just logical thinking to remove the whole directory after uninstalling and before reinstalling, so maybe you could to that also when something like this happens again ;)

( I was just thinking about playing blue shift again :] i love it, except it's too short)
