We're getting our download speed quadrupled and upload speed tripled. I was wondering when they'd get round to it, as many of the other UK ISPs have been upgrading past what BY currently offer, but this is pretty much a phenomenal result. They should be starting around about now, and finishing in the New Year. Now I can really satisfy my Munro porn fetish!

I'm looking for a new isp... are blueyonder good then?

No complaints here, no caps or anything so it's all good.

Yep, 512k is going 2mb.
Also, 2mb and 4mb is going to 10mb :D
I'm on 2mb at the moment, can't wait to get 10mb!! :bounce:

And blueyonder is very good. No caps, no problems. Thumbs up from me!

10 mb?? I could only dream of getting a connection like that in New England. Damn you lucky brits! :(

is it expensive at the moment in the UK?
BT and Eircom in Ireland offer the basic 512kbps at about €30 a month

i'm looking forward to adsl 2+ up to 24mb, although could be pricey

Heck, I didn't see that 2mb was becoming 10mb. That's quite an incentive to upgrade.

BT has started to introduce ADSL 2+ around my area. It's £20 a month for 24mb. Thats not expensive in my opinion. :)

Wait a minute... how long have you been on BY?

I signed up for the 512k service ages ago. Then they upgraded that to 1mb, is that right? So they're upgrading that to 4mb?

All for what I'm paying for that old 512k service?

Complaints to my Dad, as he wants to stick with 512K, whilst I want at least 1Mb. I guess I will have to pay when I get a Job

Many years now, back when it started at 512k, then they upgraded to 750k, then to 1mb, now to this.

Nice, can't wait.

And to anyone thinking about changing to Blueyonder - I've never had a problem, always had pretty much maximum modem speeds, and the pricing is good too especially if you already have Telewest services like cable/digital.

ive also being with BY since 512, then 768 now 1Mb. I've had a few issues tho, intermittent losses due to a electric storm which blew out some hardware on the street, which will take 6 weeks to fix, which friggin sucks.

I've been with them since 512k too. I upgraded from 1mb to 2mb as soon as i heard 2mb was going to 10mb.

Their tech support is awesome too, they usually have any problem i have fixed within 10 mins of me calling. :D

no caps:p me and my dad together hit about 40 gigs a month atm

and a modem called a surfboard:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

Been with BY since before they were called BY, good old Telewest Broadband. :)

But yea, 60kb/s to 90kb/s to 120kb/s to 400kb/s, I can't wait. :D
Anyone who is thinking about moving to BY, trust me, if you can get it, its a great move, Ive never had any major troubles, anything thats gone wrong has been my computers fault.
Infact, everything that Joims just listed.
Its brilliant.

Move to BY now.

*Moves to England*
*Gets BY*
*Gets arrested for sharing kiddie porn*

If it wasn't for those meddling kids on that HL2 forum I would have gotten away with it! :frown:

How do i find out when bt will have ADSL 2+ in my area?

I don't know nothing about the BT ADSL stuff. Try checking their website.

Haha, thats nothing. I'm paying £30 for 512k.

I'm changing ISP to Bulldog in the next few weeks, £30 for 8mb no caps.

BT are a ripoff where ever you go. A lot of broadband companies are offering better connections at cheaper prices, and most of those offer unlimited download
