bones with xsi 4.2 argh

i know most people on the forums dont seem to use xsi but like i am having loads of trouble trying to firgure out a how to attach my bones to my model and which bones to make an stuff like i need it all rigged so that i can use it in face poser. does anyone know of any tutorials or can give me advice on the subject it would be lots of help cheers.
