NE One with an Audigy Soundcard (I have an Audigy MP3+), Creative has a new patch to enable DRM (Digital Rights Management)....This Fixes it!!!!!! Valve must have used a proprietary fraunhofer codec or some shit. I also have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro with 128mb....I'm running this game on a P4 1.6ghz with 768mb of RAM....That's it, and it's smooth now! ROCK "N" ROLL!!!!! Tell Valve they got beat, 6 years L8TR!

Oh, BTW: I have Anti-Aliasing set to 6x, Anisotropic Filtering set to 16x, Everything else set to High Quality, and Triple Buffering enabled... my system is PINNED and it runs smooth.

Audigy 2 here...I don't see any recent driver updates in browsing their site? Link? Thanks!

Your lying. There's no way in hell your running this game with AA and AF set on those levels, on a 1.6ghz pentium with 768mb ram and a 9800pro. It would be virtually unplayable on your system.

Why not? I have 2.4GHz, 512MB RAM and a 9500Pro and everything is smooth at 1024x768 4xAA 4xAF, all settings maxed out. And his GFX card is way better than mine.

Athlon 3.2
1.5 GB RAM
Geforce 6 128mb

I am able to run the graphics up 100% @ 1600 x 1200 no slowdown whatsoever

I don't know what kind of crappy video card you have Gordons_nan, but my 9800 pulls off this game easy. It runs even better when I turn the quality settings up/on.

Sgupta, Do the auto update on the Soundblaster site, that's what I did.

I've got a Radeon9800 pro too, 1Gb Ram, & AthlonXP 2400. With AA set to 4 and AF set to 4, game runs a treat!

I have an audigy 2 ZS card, why can't i install this update? It says it can't find the components, like wtf?

i agree i don't believe you either. ur 1.6ghz cpu wouldn't be able to keep up with ur 3dcard and if u got AA and AF maxed than u must have it set to preformance instead of quality try switching them over and than try saying it runs smooth! Now a system like mine can run the game with everything maxed.

P4 3.42ghz @ -2c temp
ATI Radeon 9800XT/256
Audigy 2
865PE NEO2-LS mobo
1Gb Duel Channel DDR400
120gb SATA HD
80gb IDE HD

Well what do ya know, another Bull****er. Breaking news, there is no fix here, move along and stop wasting your time like i did.

This web update adds Digital Rights Management (DRM) support for Sound Blaster® Audigy® series audio devices (except Sound Blaster Audigy LS).
CRAPPP!! If this solution works, that will piss me off even more. :P

Fixes what? The stutter problem?

I've got an Audigy 1 Platinum. I'll try this now.

Thanks, but no-go. Got the update (for some reason it wasn't showing up before when I asked where, but now it does...just used Autoupdate). Great to have the latest drivers, but I still have the HL2 stuttering problem.

"setup did not detect the set of required components you have."

What the friggidy does that mean?

I updated this also but still stuttering. I think whats more annoying is the popping sounds that were introduced with the patch

I thought this update was for Audigy users? (Apart from LS users). So why do I get that error? (See my last post).

well some use onboard sound with new drivers and still have shuttering..
