Boosting in CS:S

boosting is ok, im just glad they aren't bringing back bunny hopping

Lmao

Look at this guys commentar ;>

Oh no MORe nubs jumping down from above..
Whats that in the sky ITs a bird its a plane no its a boosting noob :O

I can agree.. I don't like boosting :/ But it's fun.

Boosting is jumping onto a players head then that player standing up.

It allows to reach the parts other players can't reach.

That's great to know. Boosting adds so much more fun/strategy to the game.

It is a little bit cheesey. It adds to the exploitation of maps. One of the resons why I stopped playing CS competitively. Looks like they've already started to cave in to the 'pr0' gamers. :(

lol they cant please everyone

... and cs isnt meant to be real. gameplay > realism

True, they can't please everyone Vidrio mate, but honestly how many ppl (unlcanned ppl) do you see on public servers wanting to boost? Hardly any. Hence my assumption that the 'pr0' gamers bitched and whined and VALVe caved.

boosting has become a very important part of cs (at least for more experienced players).... glad they bring it back

It has become a very important exploit for the experienced player, one I used to be guilty of as much as the next 'veteran'. It's a shame that they didn't compromise and have it as a server option, so the ppl playing scrims/matches can still have it while the more casual player can play on servers with it turned off. It's personal taste at the end of the day.

bs 95% of CS players need no boosting

Boosting is okay, it's stuff like silent planting that really bothers me :/

if you watch demos of some of the best teams (E.G. SK) they always employ boosting. I don't see the problem in it. It's useful, like in DD2 if they've planted bomb site A and your in CT Spawn, you can boost up the side to come out right behind the crates, great for surprising T's who are in a very defendable position.

I like cs as it is now, no one boosts in public, but if they want to, its there.

and 32man towers are fun ;x

Yeah, but I always end gettign splatted when the thing topples ;)

You guys have to remember that the maps have changed big time. I think many people didn't like boosting because it lead to either:

A) Skywalking.

or

B) Walking on the edge thingies near the sky on Aztec.

I'm 99.9% those won't be accessible anymore. So the only thing you could actually use boosting for is getting onto boxes and other box-like objects that are normally inaccessible.

Then I would be OK with it. :E

Yeah boosting is a huge part of at least the competitive aspect of cs and is definitely one of the main reasons it's still so popular, it really does add enormous depth to the game. As for public servers it's not used too often except for maybe a few obvious spots, which almost all of us know by now at least. I'm very glad they added it back.

Also, people use boosting a lot on kz maps or jumping maps. I wonder if the guy will make those maps on source and if it would still be possible to do so.

I love KZ maps, I wanna play a source KZ map and fall to my death ragdolling down like 17 floors.

I didn't really think of that aspect. It would be cool to be climbing up and see a body fly overhead hurdling lifelessly to the ground. I wonder if the flying body could hit you and make you fall over though.
