Boosting to Return!

The Counter-Strike: Source BETA began on Wednesday with the release to Valve Cyber Cafe Partners (full story) and one of the first details that emerged was that the ability to hop on player's backs and get to higher areas — or boost — was severely limited.

Jess Cliffe addressed this fact in a Steampowered.com forums post saying that "boosting will be back." This comes as good news to competitive players who often use boosting as a defensive tactic. I have to applaud Valve for keeping classic CS elements in play even when new technology allows for more realistic body simulation.

On August 18th, CS:CZ owners and ATI voucher holders will be admitted to the CS: Source BETA via Steam free of charge (details). Thanks to Xiu Xiu for the submit.

Just thought I'd drag this thread up to point out that boosting is now back. On the server I was playing last night I got all manner of nasty words thrown at me cause I was boosting off a mate and they thought I was cheating..

If people knew then cool. But not everyone knows you can boost atm.

I found that you can lauch people pretty high if you hit them just right with the knife while jumping up while they jump on your head.

Yer I noticed it was back in last night when I boosted some chap onto the crates near the double doors map centre. Was most pleased it's back in, but I haven't seen anyone exploiting it, but then no one had noticed it was back so time will tell I geuss.
