borked the computer?

Right, so I was at this mates house installing F-Secure on his computer. Installation gets completed succesfully, and we reboot. Then, to our horror, it won't let us log in! The feckin machine just freezes at the welcome screen (right after one enters the password).
Any idea as to what might be wrong?

very strange. are you able to get into safe mode? if i were you i'd get into safe mode and uninstall it.

have you successfully installed this program on someone else's machine?

It's installed on my machine, working NP.
Safe Mode is accessed from the BIOS, no? I'll give that a try

not from the bios, press (I think) f8 while your booting up.

btw, what's f-secure? firewall?

yeah just keep mashing F8 until you get to a boot options screen (i'm assuming he has XP or win2k), then just choose Safe Mode.
