Basicly im stuck behind a uni firewall, so i can browse the web use msn but games are a no no, even tho i did manage to get my steam unlocked . but we can play games over the lan, we want to do some squad stuff and shoot some stuff not just chase each other around in jeeps.
I tried for an hour to get bots in a lan co-op type of situation and I don't think that functionality is there yet. If someone does figure out a way to co-op on a lan please let me know.
Anther quick question, our uni network is abit funny, for example when i used to have a cs1.5 server up some of the halls could see it thought the LAN options, others had to add the server ip through the internet connection section.
Well i believe im going to have to do this again, a friend of mine who had to add the id is trying to play battle field with us but, well the server isnt coming up. Is there a way in which you can either:
Add an ip in the Join LAN section or
Connect to the server via the console with a command.
Q: Are there any differences between LAN play and Internet play?
A: Well, it won't be a ranked server, so your stat changes won't be added to your profile. No other major differences that we know of, but you still have to log in to the EA account server when you start a multiplayer session. Lastly, bots are not available in LAN play.
One player starts a Single-Player game. Once that user gets up to the spawn selection screen (don't go in-game yet!) have Person B connect. Have him go into the Multiplayer Menu and in the "Connect to IP" box enter the LAN address for the player who is running the Single-Player game. He should then connect and then have both of you go in-game and enjoy!
Its the "Connect to IP" box that im having trouble finding, im guessing its under internet games rather then local games. Is there a console command to connect to servers?! Like connets ip......
