Anyone in the US going shopping? I'm down to my last two Ruger Hi-Caps for my mini. The cheap knock-offs I've tried would never last long.

dammit stop making ambigious threads! I thought this was about Greg brady's attempt at a pr0n career ...NM :)

btw what the hell is "Brady's"?

Sorry.. I spend most of my time on Predominately US forums... The Brady Bill is sometimes called an assault weapons ban. You can google and find all kinds of far right and far left articals on it. Brady didn't really ban assault weapons just certain features in firearms that were deemed evil. Hi Capacity magazines for instance.

IMO the Bill didn't have much of an impact. Everything was grandfathered so that if a retailer had 300 Hi-Cap mags when the bill when into effect he could continue selling them but manufacturers couldn't replace their stocks. I obeyed the law while it was in affect but of course the criminals didn't.

I have a Ruger mini-14 (search) that I use to keep my shooting skills up between weapons qualifications... I may upgrade to an AR-15 when the bill expires since I'd be able to get one with a flash surpressor. (Sight pattern is closer to what I use at work)

ugh I'm sorry I asked, you dont hunt do you? ...wait, dont answer that question, I dont want to know

I'm well aware of who brady is ...your first post was just a little ambigious

I was an avid hunter earlier in life... I have no time for it now. I shoot 300-800 meters open sites at the range (No Scope) for fun and to keep my skills up at work. Last year I qualified as an Expert Marksmen... This years qual is Saturday and I'm hoping to do as well.

My sons all hunt, I encourage them in it. Turkey, Pheasant, Squirrel, and Rabbit... They haven't gotten into deer yet but they all want bows for X-Mas.

I said I dont want to know ....so do you eat the squirrels?

Yes... They stew up ok.... Makes a good poker crowd dinner. My kids sell the hide and tails for around $2-4 each. They're turned into fishing lures and flys.

Edit: And you did to want to know otherwise you'd have deleted your question.

squirrel stew? ugh ..where do you live? Deliverance country? jk! :E

btw as you've probably guessed I'm against hunting, nothing you say will convince me otherwise

It's alarming that you distinguish between species based on usefullness:

dogs = pets, no animal cruelty

everything else = fair game

No I'm not in the South at all... Squirrel is not the best but in a stew where you boil the gameyness out and cover it with onions and other spices it's not bad on a cold day. And I'm not trying to convince you of anything...

We fish and eat lots of large juicy steaks... Around here these things are part of our heritage.

so you're native american I take it? or you hunt cows?

Raise cattle... Wouldn't be much of a challenge to hunt them now would it.

My fathers side of the family has some Indian blood not that I'm claiming to be Native American by any means just answering your question.

Do you not eat any meat?

no I'm vegetarian

no I made a choice, I dont follow traditions just for the sake of following them

/me butts in

Hmm, hunting. Not my thing really. I don't mind if you're hunting for food, but hunting purely for the "sport" of it just seems plain wrong to me. You're killing something just for the sake of it. I especially hate fox-hunting.

I admire you, I'm probably going to go veggie myself. It seems like a much healthier and better way.
Nature deserves respect and should be given respect.

thanks but it's an extremely difficult livestyle to live ...just go to your favourite restuarant and see what little they have that a vegetarian can eat

I don't know about England, but in Australia, foxes are pests. So are kangaroos, emus, dingoes, feral cats and rabbits (in rural areas at least) and as such, I have nothing against the culling of them as long as it is done in a 'humane' manner.

While I don't see the point of being a vegetarian, that right there is why I respect vegetarians for the lengths they'll go to uphold personal principles.

cats are fair game because they make poor retrievers ;)

That is an interesting statement. I REALLY don't want to start a debate, and I don't each much meat myself, but the fact is humans are omnivores. Thus it is "healthy" (ie natural) for us to eat meat.

But if you are vegetarian ain't you just eating nature?

Well no the veggie argument usually revloves around "oh were respecting nature blah blah"

"Nature deserves respect and should be given respect."

I don't really subscribe to the vegetarian way of thinking but a biiig pet peeve of mine is vegetarians shoving their agenda down my throat. Same with "orgranisations" like PETA.

Vegetarians respect nature as much as a meat-eater. They just think that stupid animals aren't equal to plants then.

You don't need to be a veggie to respect Nature.

ya PETA is worse than hitler :upstare:

vegetarians are vegetarians because they dont agree with eating sentient beings

I have no beef with vegetarians (get it... yuk yuk yuk), but PETA's activities are highly questionable.

you have both lost my respect :(

I'd like to interject with some views of my own, but I'm afraid CptStern would pester me with PM's.........................

Stupid thread, don't make threads like this, with meaningless titles and even more meaningless content.
