What a cracking game this is.

It was bundled with my DS Lite and I haven't touched anything since. The competition between me and my girlfriend has become quite heated (she tried to have a sneaky practise early this morning), both of us trying to achieve, and failing miserably, the perfect brain age of 20. Friends came around this morning and have been playing all day. Both plan on buying a DS for themselves and their parents, and all for this game!

Who would have thought doing sums, memory tests, reading exercises, and drawing animals and countries could be such compulsive entertainment? You can feel the timer ticking away as you attempt to fire up long dormant neurons. It also includes Sudoku, which works excellently with the stylus - infact the whole game controls superbly. The only downside being the occasional mess up with voice recognition, but that's still very impressive.

It's titles like this that set the DS aside from every other console - go check it out :)

I have a game called Brain Age that sounds just like that, is it the same thing?

Warbie, does it come with the DS Lite? I might have to pick one up D: this sounds intriguing, and I could use a handheld.

Game are selling a selection of titles for £9 if you buy a DS Lite. Brain Training is one of them, there's also Metroid, Tetris, Sonic etc.

The day before yesterday the Doc asked me to draw a Giraffe, a Rhino, and Africa, and then explained how drawing from memory can improve your brain power. Unknown to me, over the next day he'd asked everyone else to do the same thing. This morning I was informed that all the drawings were in and was shown each effort side by side in what can only be described as the gallery of spastic animals. It was funny :)

If you can find a few people to put aside 5-10 mins to 'train' fairly regularly then Brain Training is essential.

Ordered Metroid for £22 and Tetris for £21 with my DS Lite from amazon, didn't expect to find it any cheaper. Please tell me what others were for £9.
I feel like kicking my self. :(

You could only get one game for that price.

There was Metroid, Brain Training, Tetris, Fifa, Sims, Ice Age 2 and Sonic. I originally got Sonic, but didn't like it at all, and exchanged it for Brain Training.

How are you finding Tetris - i'm loving the push mode. Multiplayer is very cool too.

I also picked up Mario and Luigi Partners in crime. If you liked any of the Paper Mario games, or the original Mario rpg on the GBA, you'll love this.

Nintendo are definetely the most innovative company out of the big 3.

Nintendo Wii + DS > Microsoft and Sony

And to think I used to hate Nintendo...

You only lost £11, and seeing as the console and games would have cost at least £150, that;s not really that much.

Thank God

Amazon are taking their sweet time with my order. I ordered it on Friday morning and they haven’t even dispatched it yet. How is Mario and Luigi Partners in time. I loved the paper Mario games and I can’t wait to play it.

I just assumed that you could get more than one game at that price and that it might include some of the games that I ordered. But now I feel much better and I'm now going to get Brain Training

which would you guys recommend, brain age or big brain academy ?

Brain Age is the one i've got - it's excellent. I'll probably check out the other eventually.

Nabobalis, Partners in Time is charming so far. It's everything you'd expect from a Mario rpg.

I haven't played in a while, but on my brother's copy I got the highest score in the house with 23. :E Made me pretty happy being I don't ever really study in any way except for school very rarely.

I've only played the first installment in the, "series," but the game is highly addictive.

I'm thinking about picking up either Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time or Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. I hear both are awesome, and both got 8.9 from Gamespot. Not sure which one to pick up though, as i'm kinda of RPG'ed out after finishing Final Fantasy X ....a half hour ago and i've never beaten any of the Castlevania games. But i'd love some side-scrolling action for a change.

Go for Castlevania. Partners in Time is fun, but very similar to other Mario rpgs you may have played.

Scrub what I said above - Partners in Time is getting better and better. The first hour was as you'd expect from a Mario RPG. Now it's spreading on the chram, even more than usual. Top game.

I'd like to add that i also got myself a DS lite recently, and i also find the brain training to be great fun

:)

Although worryingly my brain must have been degenerating over the last few years because i'm fairly sure i used to be quite intelligent

:E
