I'm a complete n00b when it comes to modding, I got intrested a few weeks ago whilst I was looking at the hl2 mod sites. I just want to know; does anyone have a link to a modding site which shows you step-by-step, how to make a mod. Me and my mate are planning on making a mod for HL2, but we don't know the first thing about mods.

So could anyone just post a link to a n00bs modding site.

Well, what can you say? Besides learning how to mod the game itself (rather obvious), there arent really any "tutorials" on how to make a mod in general. Its just idea, optional planning, optional recruitment and then start chugging on content and code.

And since HL2 isnt even released, you wont find much on that game in particular

I suggest searching old HL sites and looking the link in the excellent Sawyer sticky here.

Oh, yeah... I was looking on my comp with HL on yesterday, and decided I would try out WorldCraft 2.0, but I couldn't find it. Where is it?

Worldcraft/Hammer comes with the SDK. You will also need the Hammer 3.5 patch.

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it alot.

But, on my HL cd, on the manual, it tells me that I have WorldCraft 2.0 on the cd and that it is in the root directory (or something) as wc20full.exe , but whatever I do I cant't find it. If it helps you to know, the edition is the Sierra Bestseller Series, and the manual is for The Game Of The Year Edition. Can someone tell me if it is on?

Pop the cd in, click on 'my computer' on your desktop, right-click on 'Half-Life' and click 'open'. You'll see a folder named 'Worldcraft', click on that and it'll display the install program. Click on it and follow the instructions.

Get Hammer, it's an updated version of worldcraft.
