That's my day ruined. And here I was yesterday, thinking mmm, Paris Hilton behind bars. There's justice in the world.

this isnt news ...had the headline read "Paris Hilton shanked for being prison stoolie" then it would be news


it says something about society the media when someone known for doing absolutely nothing has far more attention than those actually making a difference in this world ..I mean we're just as guilty for even paying attention to these stories ...I never want to hear another story about some half witted celebrity unless it begins with "celebrity shooting spree" or "celebrity donates kidneys to orphans, eyes to the blind and legs to the legless" ..the cult of personality has no power over me if I dont pay attention ..oh btw Tom Cruise is gay and was raped by christian missionaries ...<- I'd actually read an article with that headline
 
An unspecified medical problem? What, the public doesn't get to know why someone who should be serving jail time for DUI all of a sudden gets off ( basically) scott free? I wonder, would an unspecified medical problem be a valid excuse if it was anyone but Paris Hilton using it? We should care about this because someone broke the law( several times), received a fare sentence and gets to back out on it. I find this all to be very elitist.

If it were any other hilton headline, id say who gives a **** and move on. But, this is unacceptable.

Hilton was housed in the "special needs" unit of the 13-year-old jail, separate from most of its 2,200 inmates. The unit contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates. Hilton didn't have a cellmate.

Like other inmates in the special-needs area, Hilton took meals in her cell and was allowed outside for at least an hour each day to shower, watch TV in the day room, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone.

Im from the US. And I know Pitzy and Willie are too. Everyone but 13yr old spoiled American girls (and you apparently) hate her guts.

And sure we would all like to be as rich as she is... but I'd bet we would all /wrists if were were like her.

It also seems very convenient for celebrities to completely ignore issues in their own countries while promoting one particular topical issue at a time. And why do celebrities feel the need to only adopt children from third world countries and not from cities like Detroit, Baltimore or even parts of L.A and Miami that are almost warzones thanks to drug wars and rampant crime? It seems that every celebrity wants to conveniently forget problems at home so they can look pretty on the latest bandwagon.

although the public does pay alot of attention to celebs like this, its really not like major accomplishments and problems are not looked at and paid their proper attention
