Breaking Up With Xbox 360

If the PC was your girlfriend, she would probably have a penis.

Discuss.

Uhh... okay.

My Xbox never talks to me.

It never argues with me. It certainly never bitches.

I've only had it die on me once, and it happened to be resurrected by the people at Microsoft by the way.

I don't have to spend money on it when I don't feel like it, and it doesn't give a shit that I don't.

It entertains me, I don't have to entertain it.

And it certainly doesn't suck cock like the PS3. Though if you like your consoles to suck cock, because you like console fellatio, go right ahead and get the PS3.

The 360 may be a high-maintenance girlfriend, but at least you can play with her.

ohhhh burn PS3 did you feel that

Besides, I want a console I can grow old with.

Does the PS3 not suffer from planned obsolescence?

I'm sure they claim that, but peoples systems will start to die soon enough.

Every consoles die at some point.

ps3's orange light of death is getting more and more notorious these days, but not even compared to RROD.

You know the best part? There's absolutely no mention of him playing games on the PS3. He's watching blu-ray movies and surfing the internet. This is because PS3

Two games imo.

I'd include Ratchet & Clank, but many people are getting tired of that series' formulaic and now-predictable gameplay. I still love it though so screw what 'many people' think.

Too bad Insomniac didn't get the memo that the PS3 is a sinking ship. I'm a 360 owner who would just love a port.

The only thing I don't like about the 360 is it's PC-like hardware/software design. It allowed for that lazy, "release now, patch later" mentality.

so you're married to a console? I was thinking why would anyone want to get married to bluewolf

Well that doesn't make any sense. The hardware, being PC-like, makes it easier to develop for versus the PS3, meaning fewer missed release deadlines or fewer visibly-buggy-but-****-it-we-need-to-recoup-costs releases. And the PS3 has downloadable patches too.

If anything, the PC allowed for that lazy "release now, patch later" mentality. It's all Turing's fault.

On the other hand, cartridge based console games had bugs that you had to live with. There were even games that could not be completed due to bugs.

In my opinion it was obsolete before it even launched.

I also broke up with mine, my brother got the motherboard to solder off stuff he needs and I threw the rest away(with an exception for the controller and HDD)

*waits for comments on how stupid I am*

I have all but broken up with mine as well. With my new PC, I can now run the games for which I originally got a 360. Will likely sell it back to buy more games this Autumn as there are too many to afford without some major culling.

My Xbox 360 is like a sick girlfriend. I come to visit like once a week and for about 2 hours we have fun but then I leave her in the dust. Also she is noisy, expensive, and is constantly out of date in the looks department

I broke up with my 360 years ago. She kept dying and coming back which freaked me out so I chucked her for a PS3 :P

I cheated on my 360 with my PC. Then I finally came clean and broke up with the 360. Now I've been talking with a PS3, and my PC is actually happy for me and wants to meet it.

I guess patching isn't such a bad thing, but for perfectionists like me, I could spend all day patching and tweaking and still not be satisfied so a closed cartridge is actually a blessing in disguise because I could just simply dismiss it as something that can't be helped and just enjoy the game for what it is. (or not)

It's sort of a double-edged sword for me any way you slice it really.

Don't get me wrong, I love my PC, and I love the ability to mod, but when I just want to play a game instead of fruitlessly trying to satisfy anal-retentive tendencies, I actually prefer less flexibility sometimes.

That said, I try to get PC versions of games instead of console ports if my PC is able because then I know that game could be better and much more.

Make any sense?

Yes it makes sense. You should try messing with other peoples mods and maybe make your own. It can be a lot of fun.

I recently discovered Pinball construction sets and Pinball Emulation. There are sometimes bugs or flaws in pinball games that people made. I actually enjoy tweaking them. Like if I find a spot where the ball gets stuck, then I fix it. Or improving them by upgrading the graphics and sounds, or fixing a script error or whatever. Like on some of them, they used low res table graphics which I found disappointing so I might be able to find a higher resolution table and replace it. You can also tweak the kick from bumpers and all of those sort of things.

I just got my xbox back from Microsoft after a free fix, so I'm looking forwards to the weekend.
