British American Idol

ROFL

I nearly curled up into myself it was so embarrassing

Atleast the guy pursued his dream. He gets props from me. Pretty brave thing to do.

I really don't know the answer to that WWTBAM question. It's not something I ever learnt at school so I don't see why people are so "OMG, he's so stupid". A quarter of the audience didn't know either. I'm referring to the way the guy on the video goes "It's a $300 question!".

Sort of, yeah. But the fact is, is that this program THRIVES off people being utterly dreadful at what they want to do. Thus you go on it if you are:

1. Talentless and stupid.
2. An attention whore and stupid.
3. Misguidedly confident and stupid.
4. Actually 100% sure that you will have the skills and abilities they're looking for.
5. The above requires you to not be entirely stupid. Or have large breats,

These criteria essentially cut out at least 80% of the "contestants" (where "contestants" means "suckers").
Those judges are not looking for a rapper, they never have and they never will because that's not the kind of music they intend to sell. The guy should've known that.

Also, however arrogant/iset on his goals he may be, he really should've realised that he didn't have the voice, nor the rhythym to be a successful rapper. Especially when he's so bad at freestyling. I mean, that really was appalling.

Bless him.

I don't believe you that you never had passive/active voice drilled into you in grammar classes.

edit: Besides the others don't make sense. An active/passive adverb, adjective, or noun.. doesn't work.. doesn't even make sense lol.

i knew it was verbs but i can understand someone not knowing.. its not exactly something you use all the time. "oh good active voice verb use honey". its just not used past what, 5th grade?

Its probably got a different name in the UK. I've got no idea what active/passive voice is, and i'm doing A-Level English.

British American Idol

it was called Pop Idol, then the Americans stole it and named it American Idol

cant hear the video with the lack of speakers on this pooter

I don't think a rap career was the best choice, especially if you have about as much flow as a block of concrete.

The UK show sometimes allows some really crap singers into the finals where they sing on the stage. There's 1 guy in this years one called Chico (sp?), and he can't sing for crap, but he's OK looking and can dance/entertain so he never gets voted out.

I don't think you have to be a good singer to be a star anyway, just look at Prince. If they let him sing When Doves Cry he'd probably do well.

But yeah, this rapper guy sucks balls. So many idiots rap because it's beyond easy to do.

Oh yeah, and I think the UK started this entire craze. They started with a show called Pop Stars, then Pop Stars: The Rivals, then Pop Idol then America bought that from us and renamed it. Now we're doing one called The X-Factor, with the exact same "layout" as the previous shows.

But with added Sharon Osbourneness :x.

I'd like to take this opertunity to apologize to the world for what Britain has unleashed.

You want to take a trip to America's south, they don't just look inbred. It wouldn't surprise me actually if some chavs do inbreed, they can barely keep it in their pants at the best of times.

I didn't know it was verbs, but I would have gone with the ****in' audience.

For future reference...

Active: Steve threw the ball.
The subject performs the action expressed in the verb.

Passive: The ball was thrown by Steve.
The subject receives the action expressed in the verb.

Lol British American Idol.

Its called Pop Idol, and you Americans renamed it. And that show wasnt even that it was the X-factor.

When he started singing/rapping/whatever, I thought Sharon was going to do a Simon

He was acting like a townie/chav, and yet Chavs have more talent *GodRestMySoulForSayingThat*
