Hi all im finany getting broadband but...i need a good broadband company.

im getting my line switched to bt soon. Does anyone know any good companys which are cheap very good value, no download limits, no paying to go online, gd speed and possably webspace?
thanks :)

If i dont find a better company id have to go with AOHELL (AOL)

I wish I had broadband. They haven't even brought up the cables yet, so I'm stuck with 256 kb/s :(

256kb is broadband :P im on 56k at the moment i have been all my life..i had enough of it now i want to download sum big files :)

Im already with telewest :'( they dont have broadband in my area u need that special cable or sumthing.

That's so cheap. I'm here in Belgium and have to dish out 55€ every month for a 20GB download limit and a 2.5GB upload limit for 30 days. The only advantage is it's pretty fast at 6.6mbit down and 512k up.

But it's far too expensive. If we go over the limit, they put us on narrowband, wich means 1kb/s. It's a very strange system: your download quota for the day remains in your profile for 30 days, not just untill the end of the month.

And Belgium is the most cabled country in the world(http://www.mediaedgecia.be/Page10_2.asp) so it doesn't make sense.

eclipse broadband is what im on at the moment. 512k bband, but i had a stage when i first got it where my router would randomly reset, and i was cut off lol. so i had to keep turning it on and off. it was mainly due to my location (trees etc) therefore line noise was high.....but it the stopped suddenly...

18 a month is great, especially as its not 'limited' like BT packages

www.ukonline.net

they have very good offers, and very fast connection.

or go with freedom2surf, telewest, ntl or Nildram. they all are very excellent ISPs.................

256KiloBIT not byte, so 256 / 8bits = 32kilobytes ..its dial up

sucks man, hope you can get cable soon :)

all net connection speeds are measured in bits :/

i'm pretty sure i don't have a 512megabyte per second connection

as a rule of thumb, divide by 10 to get bytes, seeing as most connections will have additional data with each 'byte'

not necessarily. it could be baseband, broadband just means that it uses multiple frequencies, not that its faster. some universities have 10mbps baseband lines
