Broke Zimbabwe getting Tax Hike

You got to feel sorry for the people of Zimbabwe, heres an extract that I found interesting

A 300ml bottle of Coca Cola was priced at $6,000 on Tuesday.
The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) said the tax hikes would bring more suffering to Zimbabweans "What the minister has done is to tell us straight in the face that the government is broke and they are prepared to drive the economy to a fatal crash," the MDC's Tapiwa Mashakada told parliament, AFP reports.

I feel for the poeple, but if the government have no money, they have no power and they'll be replaced. Good riddance to them..

Looks like Mugabe may soon fall, but at what cost to the already broken populace.

I really hope he does fall, the man's a monster... His stupid policy of removing nearly all the white landowners from their possessions has really damaged Zimbabwe forever. I mean, what was the point? Most of them paid their staff well and housed them, gave them employment rather than some crappy life in the slums he so helpfully destroyed with such wilfull disregard for human life.

What do they have now? Mugabe's cronies control all the land, with no experience or particular reason to run it like it used to. A lot of the staff were chased out with their employers, or left homeless and unemployed.

If he does get deposed, he should be tried along with Milosevic.

Sooner or later there'll be a large scale revolt. It'll be quite bloody unfortunately.

And he'll probably get replaced with a guy just as bad, unfortunately.

But if he is friendly to western governments, then we won't hear how bad he is.

I hope that the opposition leader gets into office, then the European people and South Africa can get them back on their feet
