Usually when I get into arguments about Brokeback Mountain, it ends in people saying that I am homophobic.

I pretty much agree with ZT, this movie is overrated. If it had not been all risque with the homo cowboys, no-one would have paid an iota of attention to it, because it's not a very good movie. The acting is well done, but that's about it imo.

I think its an unique character study piece. Its mostly about how Heath Ledger's character cant accept that he's gay. So he keeps living a lie with his wife and it tears him apart. Then also Jake Gyllenhaal's character keeps waiting for him, hoping he'll finally leave his wife. Yet what shines the most in the movie is the pain deep inside Heath Ledger's character. It's amazing to watch how broken he is and how it affects everyone around him. I think it's a wonderful movie, but one I would only watch a few times.

But this movie isn't that overrated. If you want to talk about overrated movies then look at Dark Knight. I'm sick of hearing about that movie...
