"That's it," Brosnan told EW.com. "I've said all I've got to say on the world of James Bond."

In an interview on the magazine's Web site, posted Tuesday, the Irish-born actor said 2002's "Die Another Day" was his last mission on her majesty's secret service.

so im wondering.. if u were doing the casting for the next Bond movie, who would u cast as 007?

Heath Ledger and Hugh Jackman are just two of the names being mentioned.

Brosnan was the best bond, IMO.
/me is sad

well, I'm not a huge Bond fan.. but, oh well

Jude Law is my first choice ....Christian Bale second....Ewan McGregor third....

Hugh Jackman? Nah..

Hugh Jackman? He's cant be bond?!?!?!?! I would say colin farrell.

/me cant think of any other actors.

EDIT: whos that man from 'The transporter'? I HATE HIM!

Heath Ledger? He's a baby! Bond needs to have an air of maturity around him.

Brosnan is my favourite too, there is just something about him.....

/me goes weak at the knees

:p

Christian Bale would be decent i reckon. or even Clive Owen (King Arthur)

I feel the exact same...

I guess Jackman would make a decent bond... perhaps sean connery again (heh)
christian bale actually would be cool too (I think he kicks ass, cant wait to see him as batman)

Brosnan doesn't hold a candle to Connery. But he is a good Bond.

We need a black James Bond. Connery was he best imo. Brosman thinks he can only get serious manly roles now I think, but he is still a great bond and should keep doing them until he is to old to move.

that goes against the whole concept written by Ian Fleming. but there's already a black version of bond, and you guyscalled the film xXx. it was a very crappy film, even worse than most bond films :p

I agree Jude Law would be good ...he has that ice cold look about him...Ewan is too small and Bale looks like a bit of a pyscho (american psycho was perfect for him)

oh and hands down Sean Connery is the best bond ..all others were sissys compared to him ...he's 6 '3" and looks like he could tackle the kind of bad guys bond meets ..Brosnan looks like he'd be too busy worrying about messing up his hair (although I've liked him as bond better than Timothy Dalton)

I liked Connery the best. Then Roger Moore, and then Brosnan. I didnt like die another day, and I think that they are going down hill. Maybe they should just stop. I dont like any of those suggestions, none of them fit it in my opinion.

Steve Buscemi would make a superb bond villan, they should cast him as the next one.

The guy from Hornblower, cant remember his name, so he might have been mentioned already. I read in a womans magazine that he was a top choice for the next Bond.

i'm glad they got rid of brosnan, the guy annoys me just looking at him. He's so smug and thinks he's the sh!t, after i saw him on a interview he said something like

"there came the shaming, i always thought i'd do better if i was a foot shorter with a broken nose, i felt guilty for being too good looking"

thats not word for word but he said something pretty close to that

did you paraphrase "hello" or something? :p

I agree with slicktick, none of the suggestions thus far would suit the role, but i can't think of anyone better :/

Yes he does, and so does Jude Law. Ewan McGregor? pfffft. The only decent "would-be" James Bond mentioned here is Clive Owen.

clive owen isnt good looking enough ...above all Bond is a ladies man (moreso than Kirk :) )

edit: Orlando Bloom? not another pretty boy, he looks like he could barely do a single push up never mind defeat evil madmen bent on world domination ...oh well wont be watching any upcoming bond movies

Bah. What's up with you guys, Connery was the best bond ever. And there's no current actor who could live up to the real Bond standards.

Why not put Connery back? He WAS the best after all. And he's still alive. I'm sure all the next Bond girls will be satisfied, errr... happy. :naughty:

Connery's 73, 74 come August 25th. He's a bit old to be Bond now

Yeah, they'll need shitloads of makeup and simply that won't work. :(

In order for this to work, they need to cast someone who won't be recognised for other movies. It should be someone completely new.

The actor doesn't sell a Bond movie, the Bond name sells itself...or something like that.

Ha, I just found something rather interesting after I finished reading this thread. You are all wrong, the next James Bond is....... Orlando Bloom from the Lord of the Rings movies and Pirates of the Carribean. Here is the link.

My god, Bloom? :|
I could see him bitchslapping a villain and then crying like a little girl cause his manicure is ruined.

And Jude Law?

I actually think Orlando was a good choice, hes a fine actor and he's handsom and has that snotty yet slick attitude that bond needs. He is good at playing the type of role that bond is. And he's young enough to play bond for a good long while.

And it's not confirmed that he is the next official bond, he is just acting in the movie about bond when he was in his college years and being considered for the official bond.

Orlando would suck as a bond- "I'll have a vodka martini, shaken, not stirred- Aye, Avast!"

I think they should either invest in some new writers...or cut the whole Bond thing. It's getting to rediculus. I think it was nice how Bond was captured and such in the beginning of Die Another Day...but too many satellites that can destroy things...they need writers from 24 :)

Orlando Bloom might work out...if they give him the proper makeup lady and hairstylist...and a better voice...and look...err...wait...
