Preliminary work on Brothers in Arms 2 is already underway, we can reveal, Gearbox informing us at a press event in London this morning that part of its current European tour will involve research in Belgium for a second game in the series.
"We're working on the sequel," Colonel John Antal, the military adviser brought onboard by Gearbox for Brothers in Arms, told us earlier, before adding that the current plan is to recreate the entire World War II campaign as experienced by the 3rd platoon Fox Company, 502d PIR, the unit that's the subject of the squad-based FPS.
"We're going to follow Sgt. Matt Baker through World War II, I think people are going to want to hear his story," Colonel Antal said.
Mention was made of Operation Market Garden in relation to Brothers in Arms 2 by the Colonel, the operation the logical progression for the series. However, he also spoke of the Battle of the Bulge, Gearbox perhaps considering including both events in the follow-up.
It will no doubt be some time before we hear further word on Brothers in Arms 2, but remember where you read about it first
