doh!!! I couldnt wait for a demo any longer so I went out and bought the game last week ...I guess their decision to release the demo after the game was released payed off

btw I really enjoyed the game ...a little short but the combat was great. An expansion pack will be shown at E3

Well, time to download and see if it's really any good.

Yay...I've been wanting to try this game. In times gone by, I would have just bought it regardless, but my times of spending frivalous amounts of money on games are gone...

the game isnt for everyone, but I really enjoyed it

It's a hit or miss game. I personally dislike it as it is just too tedious for my taste.

Well, I am going to have to brag now. I went to download it and I just noticed I can still download off the member servers, even though my account ran out a couple months ago, and I haven't paid anything in about 6 months.

I'm so reporting you :D

just too repetitive and dull, gimme hidden and dangerous anyday, wish i could sell the bugger.

hidden and dangerous was ok once you ditched your squad (completely useless) ...the game had too many bugs but was fun

lol yeah it was buggy as hell and the ai could be dumb as posts, h&d2 and sabre squadron are alot of fun, being a sas operative in ww2 is a cool premise, had great atmosphere too, its got alot of cool elements too like rpg stats, you can play it so many ways too, 1st person shooter, 1st person stealth, 3rd person shooter, 3rd person stealth, real time strategy, turn based etc.

co-op is major fun too.

i have the game, i wasn't impressed, was way too much like call of duty (and not as fun) i didnt bother finishing it, maybe it got better :hmph:

I liked the game. I love WW2 history and I liked how so much of it is accurate to Normandy. It was fun actually using fire and movement tactics like the did in WW2 too. Good game. I'll have to d/l the demo to see how it plays on PC.

plays rather well ...now that I've played it on pc I dont think I'll rent it on xbox ...it was hard enough steading your rifle with a mouse let alone a controller.

I was waiting for this for so long. I can finally tell if it is good or bad! I even came close to downloading the full game, just to try.

I was left with a distinct feeling of meh after playing this demo. Maybe I should try again tomorrow but somehow it just doesn't appeal to me. Not that it's bad; far from it. It just lacks inspiration somehow. Sgt. Baker is wearing his 'Been there, done that' T-shirt. It's also quite console-ish and I'm not into that. Thanks Jimbo, for advising against buying this game. I would've been dissapointed.

I think it's just good. It's not the best WWII game out there. Also, I hate Matt Baker's attitude. "I never wanted to be squad leader." It's like the whole story revolves around how unfortunate he is. Pssh! As for the gameplay, it's ok. I found myself killing everyone myself because my squad is useless. I guess I was never able to get into using my squad, but only having one squad at the beginning stinks. The aim is horrendous. I can not believe a Screaming Eagle can't shoot! I have never fired a gun, and I am sure I could shoot better than that. Obviously Matt Baker never spent a second on the firing range. The graphics are pretty good. It ran smoothly with everything on high. I noticed nothing wrong with the graphics, as other have said. Overall this game gets a 7/10. I am not buying.

IMO this is a very overrated game (and yes I have the game)

I enjoyed it alot for ps2 of all things when my friend brought it over, I think it might have gotten boring after awhile. My favofite part was the enviorments and art.

if you lived in dublin i'd give you the game if you wanted it. im sick of seeing it near my comp, die bitch :rolling:

but seriously its not horrendous, just insanely overrated, a 7/10 would do it, too short, looks unfinished all over, too repetitive. havent picked it up since i completed it. i wish i had waited like you guys, i remember ray man saying he would wait for a demo, wish i had listened to you.

I enjoyed it. It gets the BEST WW2 GAME title because it’s different. It gives you a MUCH better sense of war then other games. The only one comparable is a 64 player server in BF1942. Other games, MOH COD and such, are too unrealistic and silly. Their portrayal of D Day is laughable; I counted 9 people TOTAL on the beach.

Have you even played CoD? Doesn't sound like it. There was never a D-Day, you were inserted behind enemy lines as a Paratrooper. Also, in CoD on the first mission, you have a group of 15 friendlies. I love the part in CoD when you are undergoing a shelling in the field and the private next to you start shaking and screaming for his mother. The first time it scared the crap outta me.

That said, MoH and all its expansions are crap.

BiA is very....boring...levels are pretty much all the same, the objectives, the scene, the only mission that broke the mold was the last one.

I don't really think Matt Baker is too far off-base thinking how he's unfortunate to be squad leader when he didn't volunteer. Think about how much of a burden that is though, being responsible for 13 lives all of a sudden in a huge war where you know lots of your friends and men were going to die.

As for the aiming - try running some distance then standing while holding a rifle trying to aim down the iron sights. It's not easy when you're not winded and it's way harder when you're breathing heavily. Throw in enemy fire and your accuracy get even worse. Do you think you're going to take the time to stop, catch your breath, peek out, do proper breathing, holding your breath for a second then firing when there's enemy soldiers firing at you? Doubtful.

I have fired lots of weapons and I got a Sharpshooter award from the NRA for using a .22 cal firing at targets 100 feet away. I doubt I could do much better than Baker at holding my gun steady standing up with no supports.

The dialouge is B movie at ABSOLUTE BEST.. sometimes I just cant stand it at all. I see no realism in the characters other then "glasses guy, badass guy, balanced confused protagonist guy who doesn't really want to be there" I had high hopes for this one.. and now I see it's not worth the purchase.

btw: why do the files within the zip contains names like "xbox live blah blah"... lol

Fully agree here. For a game that relied so heavily on dialogue, it was a really really poor effort. Poor script and badly executed lines.

The combat was...interesting. I've never played a ww2 game with combat like that before so that was new. But it never varied. It was always the same, frontal combat with the option to flank and tiny little fences you can't jump over to flank the way you want to! I wanted to get onto the rooves of houses sometimes but linear game design said "No Mr Fusion, we want you to attack the enemy like this!"

It was good at some parts, but not really replayable. Personally i think the game had better action than the small scale CoD action (like the British infiltration missions... ugh). But overall, the large scale battles arent very good. CoD gets it done real well, explosions in CoD really eXpLoDe!! In this its just like "BAng..."
Overall CoD is better, but this has better small scale battles.

if you tweak the games files it can become better tbh, particurly the gore tweak, theres nothing like chargin a mg42 with bits of dirt flying up all around you covering your view then throwing a grenade into the mg nest sending the gunner flying with only 1 leg left, hehe, yeah im sick but it adds realism.

A small note. Bakers accuracy radically improves when using German weaponary.

However, while some bits in BiA were amazing (The Church, the start of the game, the charge under fog etc) The rest of it got bogged down in "Rinse Repeat" gameplay.

I thought it was pretty danm awesome, a game where you actually have to use tactics, rather than being a super soldier like CoD. The controls feel really clumsy though, it feels like i have an awp zoomed in and im running around, it made me dizzy:rolling: I think CS:S has the PERFECT camera, it almost feels like an extension of my body, very comfortable camera movement.
