Joss Whedon apparently not involved:

Obviously I have strong, mixed emotions about something like this. My first reaction upon hearing who was writing it was, "Whit Stillman AND Wes Anderson? This is gonna be the most sardonically adorable movie EVER." Apparently I was misinformed. Then I thought, "I'll make a mint! This is worth more than all my Toy Story residuals combined!" Apparently I am seldom informed of anything. And possibly a little slow. But seriously, are vampires even popular any more?

I always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER. I don't love the idea of my creation in other hands, but I'm also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was. And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly. I can't wish people who are passionate about my little myth ill. I can, however, take this time to announce that I'm making a Batman movie. Because there's a franchise that truly needs updating. So look for The Dark Knight Rises Way Earlier Than That Other One And Also More Cheaply And In Toronto, rebooting into a theater near you.

Leave me to my pain! Sincerely, Joss Whedon.

I'm glad you asked for my thoughts on the announcement of Buffy the cinema film. This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths—just because they can't think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself.

If he'd stopped at "just because they can't think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself", yeah, that would have been funny. But as it is, the overt flippant tone is just annoying; like Joss Whedon in general, I suppose.

And of course Buffy sucked from day one, so. Nothing to see here.

Buffy sucked at day one. It got a lot better as it progressed, like most of Whedon's series.

Hooray for completely unnecessary remakes.

Also, Samon you are a poop head.
That is all.

Season 1 was the only real yawn-fest, I thought. Season 4 wasn't anything particularly remarkable either. I thought Seasons 2 and 5 were the best.

Season 4 had some superb episodes, Hush in particular. Superstar and A New Man were also rather entertaining.

Currently rewatching the entire series.
I'm on Season 4 right now and can't see anything particularly wrong with it.

A bit more angsty than previous seasons but they're in college now, it's to be expected really.

My favorite episode in the entire series was probably The Body though, just because of how real it was.
I'm a little nervous about watching it again because... well... I hate crying and I recall doing that quite a bit during that ep.

The Body is excellent, probably the best episode of Buffy. Hush is right up there though. Basically all the episodes where they do something different are great.

I just started Season 4, and it's good :3

Yes, for the first time. So don't spoil please.
