The new buggy / cross cart that im currently working on. The interior isnt yet textured, but will be later today...

(edit) forgot to tell you the poly count, it is 4978 triangles

Great job there! Really nice. Wish i had your modelling skills.. any skills at all would be great actually ;)

bad unwrapping on the cylinders + stretching ...
no smooth groups on some cylinder parts ?
all in all not bad ...
 
ive posted the tris count but again, (edit) forgot to tell you the poly count, it is 4978 triangles. And the unwrapping is streched i dont really care. didnt plan to make a better texture then the one in hl2... it it even more streched then mine

it's a WiP so i just posted my crits.. ;o
i think the polycount is alot for what i see (post a wireframe ...), and if you don't care about your work improving? why post it or even make it? I like the design of the buggy, and i do think you have learned alot in a shot amount of time, but that doesn't mean there is room for improvments
 
alot of stuff can be improves, especially in the unwrapping of the bars, I see you have hardly spend time on it, I see stretch marks and misallignment all over the place, and your texture work can use alot of work.
 
unwrapping is the part ill never do again it feels like... so i dont think im going to fix the textures anymore. after the last shots ive changed them abit, details etc. but im going to show the car that i exported today. it got the way to small... ;/

in the .CQ file .. change the scale .. and re-compile it again

OMG... that would be so fkin funny... somebody's gotta make that... i would try, but knowing me, i would fail miserably
 
Hmm. i wonder why it gets looking like this, the texture looks awful. It is too light, and the reason cant be that there is no light on the map because i tryed with the original buggy from hl2 and it looks as it should, in fact my model looks good in the hl2 model viewer but not in hammer :(

It looks like mat_fullbright is on... Make sure you compile the map with vis and rad set to normal, and that there is atleast one light source (light_env would be best).

Or if it's a problem with compiling the map (I know some people have that), you could send it to me ([email protected]) and I could try, because compiling works fine for me....
