1. Should I buy the video card now, or should I wait and hope the price goes down 2. Geforce4 Ti4200 or Radeon 9600 Pro 3. When I'm installing my OS, should I use the drivers the XP provides for my products (mobo, video card, CD rom, etc), or should i install from the disk. and if so from the disk in what order (Drive, OS, disk or OS, Drive, disk, you get the pictue). Thanks!

1. waiting couldn't hurt
2. 9600pro
3. Us XP's drivers to start, then eindows update to getlatest drviers for standard stuff, then get the 3.7cats (if u get the 9600pro)

1) It depends if you want to play halflife2 in all of its glory right when it is released. But my guess is that within 1 month of Hl2's release you'll see a price drop in the Radeon line.

2) Radeon 9600 pro, obviosuly. I just bought that card, its great, awesome overclocking potential. Valve even said it was the best value $ per FPS. What else do you need?

3)Always install from the product CD, in my opinion, for the graphcs card and the mobo you'll probably need to go online anyway to update them. CD-Rom is probably the one you want to get in first though.

why install old drivers?

1) wait til you need it...
2)9600pro purely for its directx9 features the 4200 only suports 8.1
3)install from the product cd for the "MAIN" things eg soundcard and stuff but onboard lan etc doesnt really make a huge difference in my mind...

therook

1) depends on... if you need it very soon and desperate..Yes.. But if you want to save some money you could wait untill HL2 is realesed.

2)Radeon 9600PRO (otherwise ill slap you back to stoneage!)

3)if the video card is nividia product beforce the -Fx series.. i Would recomend an older driver to it... For the rest i would download all the newest drivers from the net
