Bulletstorm

The latest issue of Game Informer included a batch of new information on the recently announced Bullet Storm, the new title from Epic Games being developed by the Polish studio People Can Fly. In the article we learn how the game's skill shot system works along with some creative combat.

The main character Grayson Hunt is part of a group called Dead Echo that runs secret missions to maintain galactic peace. Through a number of plot twists, Grayson leaves the group and becomes a drunken space pirate who ends up crash landing on the planet Stygia. This former vacation destination is now a ruined utopia overrun by gangs and predatory plant life.

As for the guns, they can be upgraded using points as well, turning an average machine gun into something capable of firing 100 bullets in a single shot. The article also describes a "flail gun" which shoots two grenades tethered together by a chain. This odd projectile can wrap around cover, bind someone's limbs, or simply blow them to hell.
For those of you that don't know, People Can Fly are the guys that made Painkiller. I liked that game a lot, so I'm lookimng forward to this.

The only screenshot of the game I could find

Looking forward to this. The alien/mutant creatures on the cover of the magazine look suspiciously like Locust grunts from Gears of War though. 'course Epic probably had something to do with that.

A little too over the top for me.

It's Unreal 3!

yeah. it sucks.

Um, is the player crouching in that screenshot or is he just really tiny?

*Creative input from Epic*

"The aliens should look like this and that. Also the main character should look like a bodybuilder and lack a neck."

There's some screenshots of this game in the newest issue of GameInformer I think. It made the cover, I know that.

Yeah its a full story with screens. One of the coolest things was a leash you could sling guys around with and shoot them in midair.

I too buy games solely based on the fact they have high frame rates.

Looks like it'd be a blast for maybe an hour.

Pretty much. One of those games you pick up for a while now and then for some mindless kicking.

I wasn't interested. Then I was. Now I'm not again. I think what I liked about Painkiller was the dark setting and story. This is too bizarre for me. It's like Kameo merged with Gears of War and kicks.

looks like brink whit adequatly proportioned characters and no sliding

but seriously I find worrying if this becomes a trend of games trying to be "edgy" or whatever you call it
like that seth green nerf comercial

This looks more fun than most FPS games. At least they're doing something different, which is the main reason Painkiller stood out so much. I'm still interested.

PCF has a great history and I loved Painkiller immensely, I'll probably buy this on day one. I love games that are both entertaining and refuse to take themselves or their genre seriously (a tradition well held within PC FPS since Duke 3D, Redneck Rampage, Serious Sam, etc). It's about time for another game like this.

WISH THERE WAS SOMETHING REAL, WISH THERE WAS SOMETHING TRUE
