From Eurogamer.net:
Rockstar Games has confirmed that Bully - subject of much controversy - is still set for release in 2006.

"Bully's very much still in development and slated for release later this year," a Rockstar spokesperson told us.

I am pretty darn excited for this one. Its been a long time coming and I am glad they aren't buckling under the pressure from folks like Jack Thompson and Hillary Clinton.

Should be good. Rockstar's a dependable company. I especially respect them since they actually move into other games besides their biggest cash cow, GTA.

Meh, I'm not too interested in it.

Hell, I forgot all about it... what's it about again?
You play as a bully and beat the shit out of kids or something?

Some info...
Everyone has tales of merciless torment from their days on the playground. Rockstar Games, maker of the Grand Theft Auto franchise and one of Take-Two Interactive's publishing labels, is spinning its own schoolyard yarn, but this tale will give gamers a chance to get a little virtual revenge.

Bully is currently in development by Rockstar Vancouver and will be the developer's first game. It's scheduled to be released on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox this October and will be shown behind closed doors at this year's[2005] E3.

"We are really excited about the first title to be developed by our Rockstar Vancouver studio," said Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games. "We fought hard to keep this title under wraps for ages, and I am thrilled that we can finally unveil it to people at E3."

Details on the "humorous tongue-in-cheek" game are limited, but a release issued by Rockstar today states that the game will take place at a fictional learning institution, named Bullworth Academy. Gamers will "stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks on malicious kids, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious reform school."
Official Site. Not much info there though. Hopefully there will be a bunch more before it hits the streets.

Interesting to say the least.

They should allow you to break the kneecaps of the bullies... or stab pencils into teachers eyes. Perhaps even stick their fingers into an old fashioned pencil sharpener and grind them to a bloody pulp.

Lots of creative things can be done.

:flame:

I'll buy it just to piss of morons like Jack Thompson and overly fantatic parents.

I'll steal it just to be even more degenerative

I was merely remarking on his wonderful rebelliousness. IT WAS NO INSULT. NO HINT OF MOCKERY. Merely a stab at poking his inner revolution. Ennui knows that he is on the absolute verge of breaking away from that damn ND Community. He's a rebel in shoes 3 sizes too large. And he's growing. GROWING.

I think the only things growing are his balls.

Why is there even a shred of controversy over this game? It sounds pretty tame.

Violence agaist kids.

A lot of people thought the player was going to be the bully.

That, and plus, it's Rockstar developing it. Heck, I'm surprised Table Tennis didn't get some controversy just because of that factor alone.
