Burnout Paradise coming to PC

wtf awesome.

Definitely buying this, well as long as it's ported properly (**** you, Assassins Creed).

Sweet, I finally get to try a Burnout game... are they anything like FlatOut?

I've got the Burnouts for the PS2. Quite fun. VERY Arcade and lots of crashing/dodging.

Man the driving in that looks horrible. D: Sickeningly arcadish. I like Forza 2 for realism, and GTA IV I like for arcade driving.

Burnout has never been anything but crazy fast arcade racing. Though by Horrible, you mean "I don't think that looks fun" I'm assuming.

Well I've played Burnout 3 before. I know it's not supposed to be realistic. It just lacks some sophistication I think that could make it more fun... almost no ability to slide around, at least from a video I saw of gameplay footage driving a super car.

Having traction like glue to the road surface and being able to turn at high speeds really easily isn't exactly very fun, at least I don't think so.

It's all about the crashes.

If I'm not mistaken, this game, more so than the others, is directed towards getting into wrecks. I remember in Burnout 3, you had the ability to drift around corners real easily and fast, so maybe they changed it more so it could angle more towards wrecking.

Either way, sounds good to me. Crashing in video games > IRL.

Sounds cool, but sadly I'm not a fan of racing on computers. The keyboard just doesn't work well for that sort of game.

You could always purchase a cheap Logitech PC controller.

I'll probably get this.
I'll use my 360 controller though.

cool
great game.
too bad i already have it for X360 :P

That's not what I heard.

Anyway As long as it's nothing like the Juiced 2 PC port. That thing was utter tripe.

It is, and I bought it... ;(

I guess I'm unique with the fact that I LOVE playing racing games on the PC. They keyboard makes it so easy for me.

After using my PC gamepad (some random logitech one) I can say I love most PC racing games. Some however don't use analogue control :(.

its the same concept with fps games on console and pc.....some like controllers because they have been stuck with it all their lives and us cool kids use keyboards and mouse.

Yeah, I guess. I never got into the whole "N64" phase. I touched that controller like, ten times. So yeah, I'm very used to the keyboard.

I'm a keyboarder, but digital inputs suck ass for racing, because you need analogue controls. Everything else, I agree keyboard and mouse all the way.

Nah, I love playing racing games on PC as well. I think it's just because I'm used to playing NFS with my PC.

it depends on the game but ive always used the dpad for racing. analog sticks are way to sensitive for racing.

I was hoping for this. When I heard it was console only I was like "WELL F U!"

Eh, digital input requires you to tap directions constantly. It's incredibly unrealistic and fairly unintuitive. Not sure what racers you've played, but every one I've tried has been easier with an analogue stick.

I'm the polar opposite. I enjoy tapping the button numerous times to slightly turn. Realistic games like Forza drive me mad, because I Just don't find them enjoyable. That might attune to my liking the digital input.

I'm with Raziaar on this. I can't stand this game series. It's way too unrealistic for my tastes. I mean, you might as well change the cars to spaceship models or jet powered surfboards. They don't drive like cars.

Also, sea, just get a gamepad. I bought DiRT, and it already was setup to use with a 360 gamepad. I'm assuming since that point, most new racing games should be great with it. And if you prefer, Logitech has some lower priced gamepads that should also work great with any game that requires analog sticks.

I prefer the 360 controller for the way it feels, and because it has the two triggers, which are great if you want a variable gas/brake pedal. Very important IMO. Not sure if Logitech has analog buttoned controllers, but they would be similarly priced if so.

The Xbox 360 controller is excellent, but honestly, there's just so few games I'd way to play with one on the PC that it's not worth my money. Maybe if it had a decent directional pad I'd justify the price by using it with old emulated games, but... yeah, not worth it. I'm not exactly the biggest racing fan either.

I got a converter box for $10 that lets me plug in a gamecube, xbox, or playstation 2 controller. The PS2 controller also works just fine for PS1 games/emulators. I used my old xbox tournament arcade stick for street fighter games in MAME also.

I'm not sure if that will work with modern games - haven't tried it. I assume you can assign the controllers for modern PC games, since I had no problem doing so for the emulators.

But I do know that they work perfect with the emulators. So if you have one of those old controllers, $10 and you have yourself a sweet D-pad. Got it at wal-mart BTW. If you need any more info, just let me know

The series is mindless fun for a couple of hours but I don't see anything that hasn't already been done in the previous Burnout's... meh.
