George Bush surprised world leaders with a joke about his poor record on the environment as he left the G8 summit in Japan.

The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter."

He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock.

not all that inflammatory or whathaveyou but it really highlights how out of touch george bush really is ..not too mention how much of an idiot he is

Very impressive thing to do in his last 200 days of office.

Not.

Yeah, because the fact that we are the worlds biggest polluters and refuse to do anything about it is so ****ing hillarious. It's almost as funny as not being able to find those pesky weapons of destruction.

Does anybody have any doubt that this guy is mentally ill?

oh and they also made this diplomatic blunder:

Mr Bush also faced criticism at the summit after Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, was described in the White House press pack given to journalists as one of the "most controversial leaders in the history of a country known for government corruption and vice".

The White House apologised for what it called "sloppy work" and said an official had simply lifted the characterisation from the internet without reading it.

not that Berlusconi isnt acorrupt bastard but you dont print it in a PRESS pack, jebus that's just so obviously on the "never do" list

We're not known for corruption and vice? Bush isn't more controversial than that guy? lol

And what the **** is a press pack anyway? Shouldn't the white house be hiding the fact that they are in bed with the press?

it's a press kit ..like when an actor does an interview and the interviewer is given a press kit detailing his career and talks a little about the movie etc

Way to promote America Bush. Promoting America as a country who doesn't care about climate change and proud about it. Just as we here in the UK get another green tax on cars. No wonder Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock, they are the only ones doing anything about it.

Wow, Bush never ceases to shame me.

This is world politics, not some drunken Christmas party.

Bush must think people have grown to love his quirky antics.

I think it's pretty obvious that he just doesn't give a shit anymore. I don't mean about the environment in particular, just generally.

His term as president is almost over, he's done next to nothing beneficial for his country or his people so it's time to just down tools and zone out for a few months.

It's like the last day of school for him.

"good bye from the most idiot person to sit on a presidential chair and more warmongerer of recent times and a failure in prety much everything except ruining a country"<punches air> should be more like apropiate

so you're saying he'll soon put the business end of a smith and wesson and blow his brains (what the rest of suspect he doesnt have) out? imitating strange fruit by swinging from the nearest tree in alabama till the life leaves his body is also a distinct possibility? perhaps somone would be kind enough to take a cellphone video of the event and spread it on the internets

Oh my goodness no. Suicide is a sin in the face of the almightblah blah blah.

I mean it's like the professional manner and consideration for the current global political climate is a non issue. **** it, let's just drop this charade and jet around the world to eat hairy crab and glibly shake off the rest of the world.

I'm not even sure that this kind of comment can be attributed to poor humour or blissful ignorance. It's just like, it's happening, why bother to acknowledge it. (Is that blissful ignorance actually?).

rats! damn you for being so rational ..raining on my suicide parade :E

I can agree with this

Such a retarded wankstain of a president reflects so very poorly on the American public who elected him too.

Well technically he wasn't elected the first time, he was appointed by the supreme court. And with all the **** ups in Ohio in 2004 with electronic voting I don't think he was ever actually elected, just managed to steal it twice.

I don't get it, whats the problem?.

Bush being a typical American?.

Everyone knows America pollutes, Americans know they pollute, most, like Bush simply don't care, hell I'm not American and I could honestly care less if I throw some rubbish in the street.

Big deal, he made a factually correct statement in a manner typical of a widely accepted character traits of many Americans, being arrogance and indifference to what others think of them, whether that criticism be deserved or not.

TBH I always lol when politicians feign shock (at least I hope its feigned) at things which are so not shock worthy or just pure lulz.

The evening news finished only recently here in the UK, it had a story about the former wife of a pretty insignificant politician who was cleared in court for theft of mini bottles of alcohol or something from her air stewardess job, and I mean, how the absolute **** does inconsequential unimportant dross like that end up in the evening news?....and she was only associated with a politician to.

Bush is an idiot for sure, but I woulda chuckled at that more then anything, shame on the other politicians for acting shocked, I wish I was there to slap them, with at least 3 other guys there ready to stop me because I'de probably not be able to stop slapping them for being the dumb**** morons they are that make me ashamed to share a planet with them.

nurizeko, I think you're forgetting that this was in a formal meeting with world leaders. He wasn't playing in an elementary school playground.

I understand what you are saying, but

nurizeko, I think you're forgetting that this was in a formal meeting with world leaders. He wasn't playing in an elementary school playground.
^Yes.

I was going to say, "He is a world leader not an irresponsible teenager."

Hey, if I was a world leader and was at the G8, I'd have laughed. :D

I love humor like this. Like when that dictator said to the protesters who threw molotovs because the army shot at them, "Don't fight violence with violence!" Gets me every time. Hehehe..
