Bush is now down to 42% approval rating, an all time low since his presidency started in 2000. What I don't understand is why these people didn't see this in November of last year.

Six in 10 said they think the country is headed down the wrong track, despite some encouraging economic news in recent weeks.

But the portion of people who view his confidence as arrogance has increased from 49 percent in January to 56 percent now.

The portion of people who consider Bush honest has dropped slightly from January, when 53 percent described him that way while 45 percent did not. Now, people are just about evenly split on that issue - with 48 percent saying he's honest and 50 percent saying he's not.

William Anderson, a retired Republican from Fort Worth, Texas, said Bush "has the right intentions, but he's going about them the wrong way."

"Iraq is one of the issues that everybody has a problem with," Anderson said. "There are some big discussions about it around town. Everybody's got their agreements and disagreements. It seems like there's no end. Is it going to end up another Vietnam?"

Continuing worries about Iraq may do more than drag down Bush's standing with the public. They could become a major issue in the 2006 midterm congressional races, and if the war is still going in 2008, they could be a factor in the presidential race.

I guess this could be good if the presidency was a popularity contest (which it probably is):

Almost two-thirds in the poll described Bush as strong and likable.

If John Kerry would run agianst him now he would still lose. It's the American way.

I can tell you why!!!!

Its because he hasn't done one single postive thing for this country! Economically, enviromentally, foreign or domestic hes the lamest duck we've ever had, and the only thing keeping his chair is the constant boogie men he keeps scaring us with. If the American people would just WAKE UP!

I think Bush should be kicked out before his term finishes. Impeach him based on stupidity leading to the loss of thousands of lives.

He did sort out the terrorists in a way.If the u.s. gets attacked again it will have a reason to go really mental.:sniper:

How did he sort out the terrorists? Last I checked Osama is still out there.

It was because Kerry was a jerk and an idiot. His smile was so fake it that it actually made you smile watching him.

I know but theyre afraid to attack america again.Or else they'll be massive forces sent to hunt them down.

Amazingly enough, the Rage Against the Machine song written in 1992 "Wake Up" is incredibly appropriate for today.

1800 dead american soldiers pretty much proves they're not afraid

I think its because people thought he could only get better, especially when Kerry was really not liked at all.

If Kerry ran again I am pretty sure he may still lose. Americans don't want Bush but they won't pick Kerry over him. Then there is Nader who everyone knows but just want to ignore.

I would like to see Hillary in office, not for the fact that she's a dem, but a woman. :D

If I had to pick between stupid and ugly, I'd pick ugly every time.]

I'd almost agree with Tr0n, except for how she's a key player of this retarded videogame banspree.

Well...she's kinda hawt also.

I'D HIT IT!

I highly doubt they are afraid to attack, they know if they attack Bush won't even go after them. He'll simply use it as an excuse to attack a country, I'm guessing Iran. Its simply a matter of time, I think they will strike us again. It wont be as bad as the 9/11 attacks but something at least as destructive as what they did in London.

She will not win the democratic primaries, she doesn't have support from any of the grass roots Democrats which decide who wins the nomination. If somehow she does get nominated Democrats will be ****ed.

Personally I think Clark might be a good choice or maybe even Obama (though I think he is too young to run in 08, maybe 2012 or 2016).

Clark the general dude?He was the one I wanted to win in the first place, not kerry. He actually knows what war is like and also he seems like an overall good guy.

...which is why the two party system does not work.

During the 2004 elections I thought that Bush was the lesser of two evils, but now I don't know. Bush has been doing a horrible job as president- I mean, can you think of anything good that he's done for this country?

They aren't afraid moron, in fact they think that if they die they will be martyrs and go to heaven with 100 virgins or some bullsh*t like that. They're crazy.

Offtopic but you aren't from CSG are you?

And you just have to ask yourself, "who in the f*** voted for him?!?!"

Anyone with some common sense could have foreseen the stupidity and stubbornness of this Administration. They're unwilling to admit that they made a mistake that sent 1800 American troops to their deaths.

We're not even half way through his second term yet!! Where will the world be in 2008?

Shame on those of you that did vote for him.

uhm. he signed that national do not call list into law, that kept telemarketers from calling my home for two months. until they found the loopholes:flame:

thats about it.

lesser of two evils? kerry for sure. I met him after he had lost the election. much more likable and shows more expression than what people see on camera. At worst, kerry simply could not have done a worse job than bush and maybe there wouldn't be such hatred for the opposing sides here. That and a democratic president would balance things out between a republican house and senate, and most judges appointed by republican presidents, they control every branch. No one party should ever control every branch.
Bush might not classify as a greater evil, just out of his mind and stupid. It's cheney and rove(and frist and delay and etc.) that are the evils.

Just today I saw on the news he wants "intelligent design" (read creationism) taught in schools instead of evolution.

The more moderate republicans should clean their party up a bit, their leaders have gone over the edge of war mongering extremist right wing zealotry. don't get me wrong I'm all for wiping out al queda and other terrorists, but if rummy, cheney and bush had their way and the money, we'd be fighting north korea, syria, iran, iraq and afghanistan at the same time. Meanwhile ignoring the Saudis and their support of terrorism simply because of money.
