Basiclly, me and my flat m8s move into our new student flat soon and we want a business connection. Obviously we are not a business but oh well, we are paying. Basiclly, I came across a good ISP who can do this and I ordered it. Litrally seconds after I ordered the connection I see this!!

Now I'm like... crap... We will definatly be using p2p and playing games and we are not a business, but we need this speed as 30kb/s upload is simply not enough when 4+ people are playing online games at the same time.

Now I was wondering if anyone had any experiance with business connections in the UK. I need to make sure I get this sorted asap or I will be charged. If I'm going to cancel the connection it needs to be like now.

So PLLEEASEEE if anyone has any information I would be very greatful. I'm franticlly trying to find someone who may have ****ed up the same as me but so far I havn't found anyone asking or telling. SO PLEASEE!

Have you and your freinds traded buisiness cards yet?

Please dude, I really need help. Your jokes arn't helping me stress at loosing £100 along with the next couple of months. Which if you was a student you will know you can't afford.

Ahh mate, a friend of mine is on Eclipse buisness package.. and he games/torrents etc.

He's been fine.

Hopefully torrents don't count as "fileshare applications". They're probably thinking Limewire or Kazaa (port usage). Don't think they'll block your gaming either. So in all hopes, you'll be fine.

My guess? They don't care how it's being used, because they're getting your money (and more than with a regular connection, too) and attacking you for it would be silly because they would only lose money.

I would however, not go overboard on data usage, getting a TB a month in traffic will upset them.

Yeah they don't care how it's being used. Every ISP has rules like that to try and scare people away from doing such things, but that's only because the ISPs themselves cant really devote any manpower to checking packets and investigating users. As long as it doesn't get completely out of hand, they really don't care.

I see you're in Leeds ... If I was nice, i'd point my directional wi-fi antenna your way and give you my wifi security details, but i'm just not. :D

I have a friend who could hook you up...if you lived around Philadelphia. :upstare:

As far as I know, most ISPs aren't allowed to monitor the data being transmitted because of privacy laws... I'm sure you'll be fine.
