So this is the system I've been thinking about, since my laptop got burned/kicked/beaten/covered in acid/thrown out of the window (ACER FTW). I'm on a really tight budget on this one, 800e absolute MAX. So I need a few pointers.

Should I go with Q6600 instead of E8500? E8500 seems to beat the Q6600 in most tests, has better clock for clock performance. How about DDR3? Is it really worth it to go with a P45 motherboard? How about the motherboard, I might do some overclocking, is it any good in it? Still thinking if I should go with HD4870, but as of now I don't think I can afford it. Any suggestions for a monitor? Been trying to find some cheap PVA, S-IPS monitors but can't find one, I have no use for a huge monitor, 20" is enough. If I need any bigger I'll just connect the comp to my video projector.

And then theres cooling. What CPU cooler should I take? I've always had Zalman but willing to take suggestions. No need for PSU recomendations, once you try Be Quiet! there's no going back.

And as for the case, if you find some other pink case let me know :D IT HAS TO BE PINK! :bounce:

The Q6600 will net you better performance is most games and applications than the E8500, plus it's cheaper than the E8500 and comes with 2 extra cores

Well went a little over my budget, but now it should be alot better. Still thinking if I should go for Q6600.

Q6600 wins, I would go for that (in fact I did). I'd recommend it, it's such a great CPU, and very overclockable to 2.8 or perhaps 3.0ghz with the right HSF. Make sure you look at the Energy Efficient versions though (SLACR)

You are right about DDR3, not worth it at this stage, far too expensive for little return, your selection looks fine. With regard to alternative cooling, a very highly recommended and fairly priced Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro would be ideal for the Q6600, on your tight budget, check the reviews on that site for other people using it with the Q6600. Not sure where you are buying your goods from though.

Everything else looks OK to me, except....pink?

But pink is for the WIN!

I'm going to replace the coolers later on. First comes the GPU cooler then the CPU. Been looking at Xigmatek (CPU) and Zerotherm (GPU) coolers.

I heard the Q6600 overclocks pretty well. But the E8500 can go up to 4GHz-4,3GHz. Well I'll go with the Q6600, hoping more games will start to support 4-cores. And I just found a review about this topic. The Q6600 rocks in for example UT3, when clocked at 3,6GHz it beats E8400 clocked at 4,2GHz. So I'll go with the Q6600. 4-cores, some what better performance == bigger ePenis.
