I know most of you guys upgrade your PCs as new hardware and so on comes out. but for me im using the 'family computer' at the moment and my dad dosnt want to udgrade it because it will get rid of the warranty. Now thats far enough but i think this PC really needs an update (its only a Athlon 1.6GHZ, radeon 8500le, 512ram at the moment, which isnt the most powerful thing in teh world).

So, as i know nothing about building PCs, i was thinking whats hte best company to buy PCs from. So far one of the best companys i know are Mesh computers (http://www.meshcomputers.com)... But there is another company, Tiny, im not sure how good theey are though... but when i looked on there website (http://www.tiny.com) i saw this really nice PC http://www.tiny.com/packages_new.php?prodid=7670 , which is quite alot cheaper then the mesh one of the same specifications. So i just wanted your adive really on wether i should spend the extra money on the mesh one, because they are a very reliable company, or weather i should go for the tiny one. I have had a tiny computer before... and i never had any problems... but still, tell me what you think.

Thanks for any help,

I would still say buying the parts yourself. I knew nothing on how to build a comp, I bought everything and gave it a shot. You'll notice everything is pretty basic and it's just like follow a Lego's instruction book except for a comp. Think about it. Don't forget you can also get help here when times get rough (if there would be any at all)

ok, thanks for the suggestion. Although i do have another problem, i need a website (preferubly english, as im in England) that you can phone up and order from, because i dont have a credit card and my dad dosnt like ordering stuff over the net.. But if i can find a site, then i will probably build myself. Is it alot cheaper to buy the parts separatly?

well, even over the phone you'll need to use a credit card.

but that deal at tiny.com look fecking amazing.

yea i know you will need to use a credit card over teh phone, but my dad thinks that 'secure', he dosnt how ever think ordering actualy online is safe.

i know, that is why i was slightly scepticle, but they are quite a good company. So im so tempted to buy it...

To bad you don't live in the US

shadow stalker, if you lived in the US you could use money orders or checks to get your CPU hardwear.
USA rocks :borg:

good website shop ( like newegg.com ) is probably more secure then trusting the person on the other line to not take your credit card number.

I don't mean to really advertise, but my brother recently started his own computer business www.rampagepc.com . So far he has only had one customer(lack of time and advertisment). So far its great, cheaper then MANY others since he only charges $50 more then it cost would cost to build it yourself. You can check prices on www.newegg.com and www.ewiz.com for the prices if you don't believe me.

www.cyberpowerpc.com

They don't have the best customer service in the world, but their prices are unbeatable. I got My computer with everything for like $2,200.
That includes:

AMD Athlon 64 FX-51
GeForce 5600 256MB
1024 MB of RAM
Digital thermometer
ASUS SK8N motherboard
SuperAlien case with plexiglass sidepanel
420 Watt power supply
Viewsonic flatscreen monitor.

The coolest thing is that they let you buy the computer in the color that you want and they even paint the monitor that you buy the same color.

Mine is silver :)

EDIT: Nevermind, the company I posted is US based.

Sounds great Moto-x_Pat, But are tehy just US based... or can they ship the PC over to England?

Whiteboy, the PCs on your brothers site could be a lot cheaper if he shopped around a bit, one obvious change would be not using XT(radeon) cards.

You suggest Nvidia? Or are you suggesting to use Pro class cards? If you are suggesting he uses Nvidia, that would be cheating people out of their money..

While I wouldn't say that, I think ATI is currently offering the best bang for the buck. Myself I'd go for a Pro if money was an issue though.

For a start forget about tiny computers :dork:
See my thread called "computer stores in the UK"
