Cabinet File Cannot Be Trusted

Hi

I've just recently brought a copy of Halflife2. I can't wait to play the game but I seem to encounter some technical problems which I hope you can help or maybe refer me?

I'm at the final stage of completing the installation process. All that requires is an update version of DirectX9.0b or over. I went to the site to download the latest version of Direct9.0c. When I run the Setup.exe, go through the defaults, I encounter an error 'A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted'. After that, the installation process fails?

I uninstall and reinstall the CDs but still encounter the same error. I meet the recommended requirements for the computer specifications but am at a lost as to what to do?

Can I get some help in this area? Any help would be much appreciated.

Tried downloading it again? The file may be corrupt.
